In honour of the great man I thought I would start this thread.
My fave was his 1st match back against Portsmouth when we all suddenly believed we could beat the drop. Not his best goal but it was a special moment.

its not easy as almost all his great goals happened in his first spell and the memory fades. 99% of them in the second spell have been close quarter headers or scrappy affairs that don't really last long in the memory. Id say my favourite was at Wembley against Bristol Rovers, just cos it was so important

Apart from his Wembley goal
My favourite was one he scored in 4-3 win at Valley Parade. Not only was it class match but he came and celebrated the goal right in front of where we were – quality moment!
His best was a volley against Rotherham in a home game

Wembley is a pretty obvious choice, but other than that, i'd either say his headed hat-trick against rotherham (ok thats 3 goals but just showed that its what boothy does best) or the volley at home to tranmere a few years ago (boxing day i think it was) purely because i don't think anyone believed he could do something like that at that point of his career

He scored a cracker from the edge of the box at an away game once but I can't remember where it was. I think it might have been Colchester? We were wearing a black kit and the ball dropped at the edge of the box and Boothy volleyed it in the top corner.
Please tell me someone remembers that one and it wasn't just a dream I once had??

No so much great as memorable. I remember being 2-1 down against Brentford. Schfoeld equalised to make it 2-2 then a long throw came in from Nathan Clarke and Booth flicked it over the keeper's head and in to the top corner. Absolutely brilliant!

Absolutely brilliant! that's probably my nephew's favourite, it was one of the first time he'd sat with me and my mates, away from my dad, he went mental like the rest of us and begged my dad to move and sit with us in future!

Rotherham volley for me, and the hat-trick away at Plymouth.
Best boothy moment though:
whilst covered in Gay Meadow Mud " You, and you lad, you're still in bloody Latvia you are " classic
Hope he gets two more to take him to 150.

The Wembley one is definitely up there. For me personally, the one at Cambridge where he did that 'high 5 miss' celebration with Iain Dunn. 4 touches and goal! You will be missed Boothy!

As someone already mentioned, in recent years it was the late winner at home against Brentford when we were behind and they started time wasting then we grabbed a late equaliser only for Boothy to pop up with a big looping header to win it, may have even been in injury time.

certanly was in injury time-both teams down to 10 men, we'd equalised in the 93rd minute, then boothy won it in the 96th minute

A goal he scored against Barnsley when we won 3-1. He was top quality that night and looked a future England player. He also signed a new contract the next day.

Walsall away, think it was season 2005/06 may have been last away fixture. We had been winning 2-0, late into the game they got one back, more or less straight from the kick off, a ball came out to Pav on the left, he took a right swing at it, it was going out for a throw in on the other side until boothy got his head to it and smashed it in, he looked at the Town fans behind the goal and I'm sure he said "How About That Then" - Quality.

95 promotion season,
he scored a cracker at home and AWAY against rotherham.
away was a boothy classic header, but it was infront of 4,000 TERRACED town fans. one of the best atmospheres I have witnessed for a town match.

That volley against Rotherham on boxing day during the promotion year. Great goal that. 1994. The best goal I saw all year - and I went to about 10 World Cup games that year too. Funnily enough, I also saw that goal against Portsmouth too. What about that goal he scored against Arsenal too - just after he moved to Sheffield Wednesday. Saw it on telly here. There was a time when he had amazing acceleration.

Yes this is one that sticks with me, although the header against Carlisle om Saturday will probably stay in the memory as long. As the ball came in you could see Boothy was going to get to it and I knew it was going in the back of the net. Hopefully he will be at playing at Orient since I can't make the Brighton game. HOWEVER the best Boothy moment has got to be his header down for Chris Billy at Wembley. I am sure that watching on the video as Dunn's cross comes in you hear Boothy (or someone shout out Billy), the ball drops to Chris Billy's feet from the header and pandemonium follows. If only I Had the game on DVD - my video player died a long time ago. Maybe I am imaging it but I like to think he is a LEGEND

One that I remember with some affection was in the Wadsworth season against Cardiff (one of the few matches we won that season.) For bravery that effort takes some beating - he knew he was going to get clattered (I knew he was going to get clattered from eighty yards away) but he still ploughed in and beat the keeper to it with a "typical header." I think he had to leave the game after that - what a player.... If Lee Clark finds somebody with half Boothy's commitment (and a touch of speed) we'll walk this division next year.

UTT Yes I remember that. Same game as Thorrington got concussion. I've rarely seen such a committed Town performance. We were so badly outplayed but he hung on. I'd of taken a point!
