what a anti climax today was, did we want to win today or what, clark has a massive job to do because to be honest we are shit.

End of season game. Nothing much for us to play for in terms of the table. How some folk can form an opinion from ONE game is beyond me.
All the things are in place for a cracking season next year in 2009/10. Chairman, manager, backing staff and players who we will get and some cracking strikers will be brought in. UTT.

You can see we are a team in transition though Boxster. We haven't had much in terms of strikers (Jevons, Parker, Jokeavitch etc) all coming in and falling short of the required grade.... Roll on Summer and new additions.

wait til next season, let clark build his own team with his own players, really get them working well as a team and there'll be improvements next season-anyway to say we're 'shit' in your words boxster, we're still 9th (ok its not the playoffs but its alot better than it looked when stan left and we thought we'd be in a relegation battle) next year we also have to learn to kill teams off, score more goals, and not drop so many points when leading (dropped over 30 points when leading this season)

I thought we looked quality today in stages where a few times we had noone but Boothy willing to attack the ball but must have been watching a different game.

We're not sh1t We've won 5 and drawn one of our last 7...we're far from perfect, but if Clark had been in charge all season, we'd have been 4 points better off per his average and just outside the play offs. With a fit boothy, we'd have made the play offs imo. Kelly in, another either centre half or right back (kelly can play centre half), another midfielder and 2 or 3 strikers (assuming cadders and holdsworth stay and assuming worthy/kamara/lucketti/parker/jevons/craney/codman/broadbent all go). Add to that, black's continuing work, a pre season to get them into shape and there is no reason we can't be in the top 4 next season. No reason at all.

I think I liked you better when you moaned solely about Glennon than now when you moan about the whole team.

Apart from saying thanks and goodbye to Boothy, the game was shocking overall and it is no wonder that we didnt make the play -offs or will do next season unless there is a big change in ability levels and personnel. Brighton looked like they came to win from the beginning, and often we were second best especially going forwards from midfield, who were collectively poor today.

For the past three seasons we have been shite, but the good thing is that we've been getting gradually 'less-shite', and with the input of money next season and a talented young manager then our transition from 'shitness' to 'brilliance' should be accelerated

I don't know how you can say that tbh I know we weren't brilliant (very good in stages though) I don't think Brighton ever come at us and looked like winning today, I don't think we are a amazing side but from what I have seen in this division this season I think we are potentially one of the best sides in the league (and its not saying much because I honestly think most sides in this league are poor).

Yeah depends on your definition of "not shit" If you reckon three seasons of midtable mediocraty in a very poor league one is decent going, then fair play If you perhaps think we should be at least challenging for promotion alongside such footballing hotbeds such as Peterbrough, Scunny, MK etc etc then i reckon you will be disappointed with how this / the last three seasons have gone Heyho Lets hope we have a big clear out and sign 8 or 9 quality players then we may have half a chance Oh and Boxster was 100% right about Matt *best keeper outside the Premiership * Glennon. Werent Birmingham interested though?? Yeah, didnt think so, lets see where he ends up next season shall we? ;D

Personally, its black and white what we have to do.
Get the ball on the floor and play football. We did that for 20 or so minutes in the first half, and we looked like we were going to give Brighton a hiding.
We're a few players short of being a good side, that's all. Lets not forget Pilkington not being in the squad, who has been awesome this season.

We seem determined to use him a the man to start all our attacks for some reason yet all the clown does is give it away. Smithies should never ever roll it out to Butler, it's asking for trouble

I thought it was a half decent game yesterday. In the first half we played some really good stuff for a spell and the only thing missing in the second half was our final ball. We also notched two great goals. Room for improvement but not a disaster. A mate of mine went down for the first time in years and loved it.

Playing devil's advocate I could say that the only thing missing for Brighton was the finish. Their strikers were clean through 3 or 4 times but fortunately shot high / wide plus Smithies made a superb fingertip save. I did think we were the better side overall but Brighton had more than enough chances to win it and probably should have done.

There's definitely a lack of quality in the team but it's all about next season again isn't it? Let's dream through the summer and then see what reality brings.
