Does anybody actually know why they can't go onto the pitch like we used to at Leeds Road and, ffs, the players could come out into the directors box, as they used to, but no, we get supersilious (sp?) tossers booing the kids, and towing the party line.

I agree 100%. It sickened me to hear grown ups booing youngsters who went onto the pitch. These kids are better than most kids who support Manure/Liverpool/Arsenal/Chelsea, and didn't deserve to be booed. I hope it doesn't put them off supporting Town in the future. When I was a kid in the 80's we used to regularly invade the pitch and it harmed no one. Shame on anyone who booed.

I'm sure the main reason why people booed is because the young kids running on the pitch could have affected the chance of a lap of honour (though in my opinion it probably would have happened whatever).
Probably nothing against the kids themselves, it's the club's fault for having daft rules in place.

Save the pitch invasion for a time when it is justified and it will be all the sweeter. Running on when we have finished 9th kind of takes the point away from a pitch invasion imo

We have this same debate every year. I agree with what's been posted further up. It's a thrill for these young supporters to go on the hallowed turf at the end of the season. Let them go on and run about for two minutes then ask them to go back in the stands when the players are ready to come out again as happened yesterday. What's the harm?

Yesterday's "invasion" was completely innocent, spontaneous, and fuelled by a love for Town, by kids - and they were kids (unlike the chav ratboys from the end of last season) - who I hope enjoyed their day in the sun.
Highlight of my life as a ten year-old was scoring a goal at Leeds Road - albeit with a beach ball. Everyone complains about "modern" football, so see this bit of "old school" football for what it is: harmless fun!

What annoyed me was that a good 30% of 'em were chavvy little girls carrying their handbags. You're telling me they were doing it for the love of the club and taking on the opportunity to touch the hallowed turf? That is absolute bollocks. They were doing it because they were chavvy.littte.kids. They'll be the ones who sang "You're support is f**king sh*t at the Hartlepool fans who traveled down on that Tuesday night, when no one even knew whether the match would be on 100%. The country pretty much came to a stand still, but they still made the effort to travel all that way, and for what, to be abused for doing so? They'll be the ones who start trying to get a mexican going when we're one nil down.

It's done no harm, but at the same time it's out of order for people who didn't go on etc to be called an embarrassment.

No harm done. Did everyone notice it only took a quick word by our excellent announcer to clear the pitch? They ran back to the stands as quickly as they ran on. No need for a hundred coppers and half a dozen horses in these situations.

BOOING THESE KIDS IS A TOTAL EMBARRASSMENT,,,,,,get a life!!!!!!!!!TTID---WHAT YOU SAY IS BOLLOX,,,,,,, I have a life cheers mate, and not running on the pitch doesn't determine whether I have one or not either. I myself didn't boo. But I can understand why people did. I wasn't massivley bothered that the kids ran on because at the end of the day like it's been said they'd have their 2 minutes and then normal order would be resumed. But you've come on here and stated that the people that voiced their dissatisfaction are in the wrong and are an embarrassment. When to anybody with a level head/braincells to rub together could clearly see it's the other way round. If the little kids do you proud then good for you, but don't attack people who disagree with what they did, it's uncalled for.

A lap of honour for ninth in the table is more embarrasing than an end of season pitch invasion. Fair play to the kids, I hope they enjoyed themselves - I bet the miserable twats that booed them haven't enjoyed themselves in years.

Agree with you in a way Jimmy-this country is becoming so boring many of us wonder why the hell we still live here.No doubt health and safety rules came into play and some jobsworth doesn't like kids running on his grass.
I went home on 90 mins largely because I don't think it was a good season and barring Boothy didn't feel it was worth staying behind.
I was always on the pitch with the rest in the 1960's and 70's cos it always seems more exciting at that age.
Lets round up all that PC brigade and toss them over board and then we may have a decent country.
