Thought Hangover 1 was good but probably overrated.
The Hangover 2 was abysmal. It has the same story line and the same things happen but just a little bit more extreme. If you had seen the trailer then there was not point seeing the film as you knew what was going to happen and had seen the funniest bits.
Haven't seen many new films recently to be honest.
Watched No Country for Old Men for the first time recently and through it was excellent. (if it hasn't been mentioned)
Over Xmas I briefly watched a comedy program on TV which was a spoof of the film. I was a bit pissed at the time and had intended watching it the next day or so on one of the i-players because I was already recording 2 on Sky channels.
For the life in me I can't remember what it was called.
I was with Blockbuster Online for about 6 years, 3 at a time. I cancelled Sky movies because i wasn't watching any movies. I joined Blockbuster so that I could choose what I wanted to watch.
It was OK at first but 3 yrs ago I realized I wasn't getting any of my choices from the top of the list. I had about 350 selections in my list.
I put my list into a MsExcel spreadsheet on my computer and religiously made a log of everything that they sent me.
In the 3 yrs that I was keeping a record I was getting about 6 DVD's a week. However, I only received 15 DVD's from the top 10 in my list.
The majority of DVD's they sent me were between 75 and 120 in the list. The average position of DVD in my list that they sent over the 3 year period was 76. I wasn't even watching the DVD's. I sent the majority straight back.
I sensed something was not right. 12 months ago I started complaining. Amazingly, after one particular vitriolic complaint they sent me numbers 1, 2 & 3 from my list the very next day. But, sad to say it was normal service resumed the next time.
Things got worse. They started what I learned to be called "throttling" my account.
This involved not booking my DVD's back in or sending new one's out as quickly as they once did.
Things got so bad that after receiving 6 per week I was only receiving 6 per month.
You originally had hope that it was going to be good?
I cringed every time I saw a trailer for it before a film and people around me we're saying "ooo, that looks good!". No it didn't. Aliens and Cowboys? Something that has travelled a few million lightyears and more, against 30+ guys on horseback?
I don't expect realism is films such as this but it was taking it a little too far. If the aliens had just blown them all up with the nuclear weapons they have right at the start of the film, it may have done itself some justice.
Sat through Cedar Rapids last night, truly awful. Religious, small town American dry comedy. One laugh throughout the entire film. Ed Helms and John C Reilly plus Ellen's first wife. Cack. IMDB rates it a 6.4. I give it a zzzzzzzzzzzz.

Troll Hunter- crap film. Trolls not believable at all, looked daft, all the characters were one-dimensional and the blair witch style shakey camera thing has been done to death.
Kill List - best film i've seen for ages, its a belter, will be a cult classic in twenty years time

I guess it would help to know Norwegian folklore to really "get it". The Trolls are supposed to look like that. I thought the CGI was refreshing. The "Troll Hunter" himself is more known in Norway as a comedian and social satirist, so it was a surprising move on his part.

If thats true then surely they should have explained this folklore in the film. Or only released it in norway

It seems like it's getting a pretty decent reception outside of Norway, though....
Yes it does, which would suggest you dont need to know norwegian folklore to "get it" at all
Wasn't the worst film i've ever seen just thought the trolls were pretty laughable, they would have been better off showing less of them and leaving more to the imagination. And the whole found footage mock documentary stuff is really played out now
Have any of you seen Animal Kingdom, or has it already been mentioned on here? Had it recommended to me the other day and from the trailer it certainly looks like a good'un.
Watched this last night and I can confirm that it is very good indeed, definitely recommend giving it a watch :nodding:
Yep, watched Animal Kingdom the other week and it is quite good. Snowtown is another decent Australian movie although a little weird
Talking of Animal Kingdom, just watched Warrior which has Joel Edgerton in who was in AK. Although it was obvious from the first 10 minutes what was going to happen (as with all these types of films) it was actually a really good watch. Must watch if you're in to MMA and even if you're not. 8/10
