Tabloid- great documentary by errol morris, mad story
Sleeping Beauty- crap, really don't see why it seems to be getting decent reviews
Eagle vs shark- funny film, some good characters
The Chaser- korean thriller, pretty tense in parts, good film

Just watched "The Guard" and thought it was great. If you liked "In Bruges" you'll enjoy this. Another black comedy with the excellent Brendan Gleeson, Don Cheadle as the straight man and Mark Strong, who by law has to be in any film Michael Fassbender isn't, with the best script an actor could wish for.

Winter's Bone, top film, fantastic performance from Jennifer Lawrence. Think she's gonna go on to big things. And she's fit.

I adore that film. The bloke who plays the is he evil/benevolent? speed freak cant remember his name, is a dead ringer for a young Dennis Hopper. They really researched the dialect and customs of the people they portray in the movie rather than employing lazy redneck caricatures and it shows. Classic.

I dont know if it was just the booze, but I had tears in my eyes when I watched Winters Bone last christmas. I know it sounds a bit cuntish or like a Wham song, but it really emotionally floored me.

He's in a few decent things, a lot of TV (Deadwood, the bloody brilliant Eastbound and Down). He's a good actor. It is an incredibly bleak film to be fair, not the easiest to watch at times but well worth it

Thats the one. His character is called Teardrop. He looks so different to Sol from Deadwood I never made the connection. If you liked Deadwood, Timothy Olyphant who played Seth is in a brilliant series called Justified. I keep flogging the arse out of it on off-topic, but nobody seems to be into it!

Yep love Justified mate, doesn't take itself seriously haha Boyd Crowder is a great character. I liked first series of Deadwood but to be honest got a bit bored of it, which is unlike me when it comes to HBO programs. Still watched them all but it dragged on a bit. Ian McShane is brilliant in it

Totally agree. There is nothing anywhere close as good as Justified running at the moment.

We need to talk about kevin - the missus choice this one, i didnt rate it. Main character seemed one dimensional, film just didnt really explain her behavour/thoughts that well
Snowtown - cracking film, but christ its violent. One scene in particular is just unwatchable. Great film if you've got a strong stomach, warp films bang on the money again

Now this is a hard sell. An animated feature about the postal friendship between a grossly overweight Jewish New Yorker and a young Australian girl who both have asbergers syndrome and are both friendless. It is called Mary and Max and is equally funny as fuck/deeply sad. Barry Humphries does the narrative voiceover and it has the totally fab Phillip Seymour Hoffman doing Max's voice. Classic.

Slither - not bad for a gross out/comedy/horror type film. A poor mans Braindead. Which all of those types of films are to be fair

Fvcking hell, my wife is watching a new version of Jane Eyre and Fassbender has just appeared ... it had been decent until he appeared trying to do a Yorkshire accent!

Black Swan. Not as bad as I was expecting but still a bit annoying in parts. Easy A. Pretty funny chick flick in the style of Mean Girls. Enjoyed it after a few light ales

Finally got round to watching I'm Not There this week and it's laughably bad. Only the soundtrack and amusement factor of seeing Cate Blanchett's accurate Dylan around the mid-60s impression save it from being the worst film of all time!

Just watched 21 Jump Street. It is heroically dumb and all the better for it. Really enjoyable dumbass comedy in the same vein as The Other Guys.

Another earth- interesting low key sci-fi, decent but not amazing
Hugo- Scorsese kids film about early cinema, very good
Tyrannosaur- depressing in parts but yet strangely uplifting. Great performances all round, loved it

Went to see Spiderman tonight. Didn't read too much about it before hand but I was expecting a Batman kinda makeover where they've made it darker, more slick and cool. I mean, what would be the point in making it as the last one was what? 10 year ago or something?
What a pile of s***e! Cheesy as f***, exactly the same as the last one but with a few extra special effects. Complete bobbins. Gained a little bit of respect for it towards the end but then the last line shattered it completely and firmly cemented it's place in the 'turd' category of films.

As someone who is a bit of a comic book film fan I haven't really been enticed by Spiderman. After that review I definitely won't be watching. Batman is out soon though. Probably going to be the film of the year so far IMO.

So annoying because after seeing what they've done with Batman I''d love to see other directors take a similar approach when remaking these comic book films. It had the potential to be a lot better and sadly it just heads down the same old path it did before. There is a scene in it where he's using his webs to swing through the city and he says "hey watch out, i'm swinging here"... ..Cringe! :suicide:

You only went to see it because I said you had the feintest hint of a look of Andrew Garfield. Deeply tragic.
