Norwich are nowhere near big enough a club to sign JR. Pilkington yeah, but Jordan will have a choice of top clubs and they won't be out there in the wetlands nomansland To be honest I think he would join if he had the chance. We managed to persuade the captain of Leeds and lifelong supporter to leave the club despite many Leeds fans saying it wouldn't happen. He is not going to be signed by one of the big 6 on the strength of an admittedly astonishing record in League 1. So do not underestimate the lure of a concrete offer of Premiership football and the extra wages that inevitably entails (by any club not just Norwich) Who knows whether we are actively trying to sign him but its irrelevant as we can't afford him and you are not selling anyway. Simple as that.

Completely different kettle of fish.
Howson - relatively nearing the end of his career - a chairman who would sell his Grandma for a Chomp.
Rhodes - young, watched by many real 'big' clubs,". Chairman who has the clubs best interests in heart who has categorically stated he won't be sold this window. Ask your pals from Portman Road what happened when we last sold our prize asset promotion seeking.

Coardy, I think you meant to say Howson was near the end of his contract, not career.....

Jesus, so I did. In fact he's 7 days older than me.
I knew there was a reason why I lurk and not post on this board! Back to sobriety and obscurity tomorrow.

I saw Simon Thomas tweet about this earlier. Hopefully it is as people say and it's just Sky throwing rumours about for their own gain.

Haha, this is never going to happen.
We can't afford to buy Jordan Rhodes, would take something like £8m+ right?
Given our transfer record is £3.5m, and that was a few years ago in the Championship, I can't see us breaking that just yet.
Imagine there will be a bit of interest in Rhodes from clubs with might be able to afford the transfer fee, but expect you to rebuff it all.
Hopefully Rhodes will help you get up this season, otherwise he may well then be off and we may come back for him.
Good luck for the rest of the season, our last day out at the Galpharm was a brilliant day.

Registering just to post this? Don't know why people bother. I found the post very interesting. What right have you to say such a thing? Welcome Rhodesthegreat, and dont be put off posting by the DATM mafia. 2/1 ON to join Norwich is incredibly short odds......something may well be in the air.

Suspected as much. This bloke has opened a new account on the pinkun forum and surprise, surprise has also opened a new account on this forum to, just to start this rumour. Rhodes isnt going anyway and I think everyone knows it. I bet the Rhodes to Norwich betting market is so small that a packet of haribo being wagered on it would send the odds crashing down. It means nothing. The OP didnt 'start a rumour'......she just put up a link to a very interesting page.

couldnt resist the opportunity for a one liner. I think our lack of signings this January speaks volumes about Dean's feelings. We never strengthen when we need to in January and i cant help but feel that Clark isnt able to ship the dead wood out that was brought in on ridiculous wages that no other team at that players standard can afford. IF Rhodes were to get injured there isnt a single finisher in our team that could step up. Cads, Lee and Novak are all workhorse front men who score 1 in 5 chances. We are missing Roberts and Ward now, the centre of midfield is a mess and our best LB is out on loan. Face facts the manager is to blame and Hoyle probably isnt prepared for anymore of his money to get frittered away on a championship loan signing that doesnt play (morrison 1st time, Parkin). Absolutlely gutted that we are falling behind everyone . AGAIN!

canary follower, was on here before when we were talking about Pilks coming to Norwich. I got that one wrong. But feel I am right on this one, I believe it is a betting scam to get money put on, we had it with Lambert to Burnley.
Your chairman said he isn't going anywhere, and tbh I believe that, I am sure it will take quite a bit of money to pry him away, and I don't think City have that much to spend in this window.
As much as I would like it, I can't see it happening, but in the few hours remaining I think your chairman's resolve may be tested. But if not now it certainly will in the summer
