How can anyone really stick up for Clark either on football matters or anything else is completely beyond me. Good riddance. The club can move forward again now. Well done Deano. I would've sacked him for any of the following reasons: Poor football Poor results Poorly motivated or unsettled players Tactical ineptitude players paid £££££'s that we never see. Continual rubbish loan players & His attitude surrounding Leicester job- wholly disrespectful and unacceptable His constant childish overreaction to Oggy & recent failure to speak at all after notts county His slagging off 'people connected with the club' on sky after Wycombe game His recent response to a question about Leeds vacancy-- " Whoever I am employed by I will give 100%.
If I was Deano I'd have thought- "You're ****in* employed by me you little shit." You were assistant under roeder at Norwich before I made you famous and you pissed millions of my hard earned up the wall and let all the fans down. Incidentally, I think the Leeds thing was the straw that broke the camel's back. Good point Rory lad......everyone thinks we're mad but we all know differently. Having said that,I'd like to go record and thank Clark for his efforts because whatever I've said about him he did work his bollocks off at Town and he did give a shit about the club.

I don't think we've really addressed the key point in Oti's original post, here.
So, Oti, was he doing the barmaid from The Cav, Da Sandros or that new Ten bar?!

Clark has really behaved with utter incompetence, i'm sad he messed up and has left us no better off, any new manager has to try and remotivate or shall i say actually motivate his playaz.

Im an Aston Villa fan who came here just to see your reactions as i was really shocked with todays news. But to be honest i have only seen you lot play about 2 or 3 times over the last 18 months.
Your league position is good but i do agree with what alot of you are saying because we had exactly the same thing with O'Neill, everybody kept telling us how good he was and "look at where you are in the table!". But your comments echo that of the majority of Villa fans, "What good is being up there, or there or thereabouts, if you never actually achieve anything" and the biggy "Look at the F**kin money hes done up the wall!!!".
I only came by to see your reactions really. Oh, and to ask, well BEG actually, if you wouldnt mind taking McLeish off of our hands??? We'll throw in Heskey aswell, for a cut price £2million. Otherwise we will be meeting in the Championship next year!!
All The Best.

I cant deny he made a big difference at Villa. But a new manager at any club usaully gets a honeymoon period dont they? O'Neill made a lot of errors at Villa but all people talk about is the 3 consecutive top 6 finishes.
Anyway, back to your mob, apparently the MK Dons manager is favourite. If you have money, you should try tempt Powell away from Charlton!

Left us no better off?! Do me a favour - we have been a permanently top 6 side for the last 3 seasons (something we didnt manage in the previous 3 at all!) and the squad is now worth more than ANY squad in my lifetime, despite a few not performing well recently. If those players need remotivating then flog the ruddy lot of em - its not motivation they need, but some stability in selection and a pattern of play to work with effectively. Then we can loan some of the surplus midfield lads out, maybe bring an impact loanee in to balance the squad and hopefully move onwards and upwards.

I am delighted he has gone! When you can't win your homes games you have problems. Its become depressing watching Town at The Galpharm. Amazingly they are brilliant away from home, but you have to consistant both home and away. He has had a fair crack of the whip, a lot more than other clubs would have given him. Dean Hoyle has also had to look at it from a business point of view. In a few weeks time he has to try selling next season's season tickets/cards and he knows a lot of fans don't want to watch the crap being served up at The Galpharm.

He made a right mess of it in the end.
But then, his strange approach to signings hasn't changed since that first transfer window and my opinion of him as a manager never waivered from then.
Simply not up to the job. Decent, hard working guy, but not up to it despite the unbeaten run (for which he deserves credit for).
His tactics, subs and decisions have always been questionable and the number of signings that haven't worked out is bordering on the obscene.
He took over 3.5 years ago when we were 10th in League One and left us 4th in League One having made 50 signings and paid off however many others.
Given the Club were saying "Sean Jarvis' Grandma could get us promoted on this budget" and calling it "Our promotion season" on the day the cyclists left for Southend, leaving an imbalanced, underperforming squad in it's current state could hardly be deemed as any kind of success.

Shawsie makes a good point ... Town fans overwhelmingly feel right decision has been made but we need to show some class... We have had some really good times under Clark and I for one am gutted for him... No need to discuss his private life on here we are all human... Just thank the guy for what he has achieved and move on ... Although its definitely the correct decision in my opinion it's also a sad day for the club... Gutted for dean Hoyle who believed in Clark

Your fans didnt want O'Neil, now they dont want McCleish.....they sound as fickle as our lot to be honest.

Those close to him know what he is all about. He is only another flawed human and obviously has people who care about him. Simply not up to the job and if you are in the public eye and under scrutiny you have to be squeaky clean. Not going to post stuff on here but would not surprise me in the least (when Deano opens up) that there was more to the sacking than team affairs.

So you are basically calling Deano an idiot. Lee Clark x 3 seasons + £££££££'s spent on 40+ players x shit tactics = absolutely nothing acheived But you carry on sticking up for Clark eh pal? Idiot Could you please point out to me where I called Dean Hoyle an idiot? I can point out where you called ME an idiot. Am I an idiot because I disagree with you, or am I an idiot because i disagree with real idiots like colt whtever his name is saying ****Clark? Gladly, you stated that we (the 'anti-clark' brigade if you will)were idiots. Well seeing as though Deano sacked Clark, I would say that makes Master and Commander of the 'anti-Clark brigade', so thereby you are calling him an idiot. I called you an idiot as, quite frankly, only an idiot would still try to defend LC after everything he has done (or not done) here over the past 3 seasons.

Brilliant, we gonna have another Warnock / Stewart / Monkou was slipping it to person X's wife / daughter / tricky winger rumour? Going on his drinking stats, I'm going for one from the Cav!

If Hoyle can show decorum and gratitude towards Clark and his time here, why can't some of you lot? We tried an unproven manager, it didn't quite work out, but some people on here want to paint Clark as the devil incarnate.
