Bit reminiscent of our 4-3 v Walsall eh... Not even a patch on out 3 2 vs Scunny, when we ended up with 9 men.

Reminded me of the 3 2 v brentford.. Even so much to the point that QPR kicked it into the corner at 2-2, city went up the other end and scored.

Glad City won it.

Surely attacking Tevez should be applauded?

Joey Barton : 'Can do nothing but apologise to the players and the fans. Still don't think its a sending off. Tried to take 1 of their players with me....'

Say what you like about Joey Barton, but he had a point about Alan Shearer.

yes hes a prat at times and has an overly aggressive streak at times but the talk that hes a disgrace to football etc is ridiculous! Look at other players that have done the same if not worse than Barton......Maradona, dicanio, roy keane, shearer to name a few! yet these players were not called thugs etc! Just think its part of lots of players games but Bartons reputation goes before him a lot of the time. although he doesnt help himself, his honesty on twitter and interviews is refreshing!

I've never seen someone try and take out an opposition player after being sent off before. That's fucking disgraceful and deserving of a very very long (9 months?) ban.

I've never seen someone elbow someone, purposely try to injure someone by kicking him and then try and headbutt someone all in the space of a min. On the final day as well when your team was in real danger of relegation. Yet all this makes him a character and there was me thinking he was a c*nt

Yet all this makes him a character and there was me thinking he was a c*nt so you dont remember dicanio getting sent off then pushing the ref over and half te arsenal team on his way off the pitch?! or roy keane ending haalands career with a knee high lunge and screaming in his face after it live on tv! or Cantona stamping on a swindon player or when he kung fu kicked a fan?! or maradona playing whilst on drugs and being involved in a on the field kick boxing match? there are many times things like that have happened but people forget. Yea what Barton did was wrong. not defending it, just saying it doesnt warrant a massive ban and its more the fact people just dont like Barton and its easy to say hes a disgrace n ban him.

All them players you've mentioned have probably had 1 maybe 2 incidents in their careers, aside of Maradona all in the heat of the game.
Barton has had that many incidents on and off the pitch that makes him stand out from these and that knock to Aguero is probably one of the most bizarre things I've seen on a football field. Bit like that challenge from Terry that got him sent off.
Out and out thugs, not tough players, just born cheats...

Out and out thugs, not tough players, just born cheats... Asked whether he would sign Barton again, Warnock said: "He's a very, very good player and a very, very good trainer."

Sorry Pal8485 but dont agree with you at all.He is and always has been a thug. like i said im not defending him. Things hes done in the past show hes an idiot and im not denying that. It was the fact everyone was saying hes a disgrace and ban him for months that i dont agree with. Other players have done worse but because they were great players it was overlooked and instead of being thugs it was said its part of their flair and extrovert personalities! Barton did wrong yes, ban 3 games yes, disgrace to football no, months ban no, thug maybe.

He elbowed Tevez after being punched twice , not nice but hardly the crime of the century. He then tried to fight every man and his dog after being sent off and went on to slaughter Shearer and Lineker on twitter in the aftermath.
Fantastic entertainment , I want more players like this not less !

Fantastic entertainment , I want more players like this not less ! Just as a moment of footballing brilliance like aguerro yesterday entertains us so does a moment of pure raw aggression like Barton. I was watching the game in a bar and the biggest cheer of the day came when Barton started losing it and went for everyone, everyone in the bar jumped up and just started shouting " go on Joey lad". Not saying its right what Barton did but i like players like him, the fact that you have no idea what hes going to do next entertains me, he might smack someone, he might not. Same with balotelli, nobody not even himself knows what hes going to do next and that is entertaining. I know people dont agree with that but if we all agreed on everything this forum would be boring as hell just like how football would be a little less entertaining without players like barton and balotelli.
