Im not saying there's anything in it but I've just seen Cameron Jerome going into Fartown cleaners on Bradford Rd (nice matt black Audi Q7) Now he would take a few Championship defenders to the cleaners next season. You will have mate he still pretty much lives in Huddersfield so do's all his family.

I have seen a few stories linking Zak Whitbread with Southampton, Reading and Wigan so doubt we will be getting him if thats true.
Going by that site theres a lot of midfielder on frees too. Lloyd Sam potentially? Grayson signed him for Leeds im guessing.
Matty Oakley, Sean Davies, Reo-Coker, Vince Grella all good centre midfielders.
James McFadden, Ivan Klasnic (probs go to another prem team Id guess?), Ricardo Fuller also all on frees.

Matt Oakley & Adam Clayton could be our new midfield for me.
Ricardo Fuller is ambitious. As are we.

Matt Oakley will be 35 at start of new season, struggled last season with injury and Exeter did not want him on loan for season due to his injury. Dont think he would be a good signing.

What about Jay Bothroyd or DJ Campbell from QPR . I doubt either are likely to get a look in there next season !

Does Simon know DJ from his time at Blackpool?
Oakley no thanks.
Norwood is a reasonable shout. Not seen much of him myself but heard good things when he was at scunny.

Matty Fryatt? Always rated that guy at this level, maybe we could put a cheeky bid in for him.

No chance of a bothroyd or snodgrass coming, we have to be realistic in championship terms we are one of the smaller clubs with what will be an average budget plenty of good players about but I wouldn't expect us to be throwing millions about the place!!!

Lewington was at fault for both our goals down there, not a big fan.

:tumbleweed: Lewington was at fault for both our goals down there, not a big fan. Me neither, he may be ok going forward, but having seen him several times over the years I think he's a poor defender. It's beyond me why his name gets bandied about every summer. We can do better. I'm not a great fan of Bothroyd either, talented guy, but very questionable attitude. A couple of decent season's at Cardiff don't mask a career spent drifting from club to club. For me there's far too many games where he just doesn't put a shift in. Not a Town type of player at all, and will be on a hefty wage at QPR. It wouldn't surprise me to see him rejoin Mr Warnock at Elland Road.

Don't necessarily think you need to buy players with Championship experience.
Would rather us go back to signing young and talented players. If you pick out the best players from League 1 and 2, you will get a decent side! Just look at Norwich's transfer activity last summer and see where that got them.

If you pick out the best players from League 1 and 2, you will get a decent side! Just look at Norwich's transfer activity last summer and see where that got them. I like the approach we took the first few years of the new era. Young talented players. The only reason we needed to go out and get experience was because we were having difficulty closing out sides and with nerves. In the new challenge and league youth and that bit of exuberance will get us further I feel. After all the young lads we have, now have some really valuable experience, they've had three playoff campaigns and experience just about everything In between, including massive pressure. That pressures off now and I think a lot of personalities and characters will thrive on it.

Some of the names quoted are ridiculous btw. Snodgrass - LOL.
See a few of you talking about Gleeson. I prefer the MK Dons #8 Darren Potter but think he signed a new deal recently. Hes a top player. Also liked the Bury #6. Has a lovely left peg and pings it about for fun.

If we're looking at young potential from League 1/League 2, I wouldn't mind being linked with the following:
- Judge (Notts County) - Gleeson (MK) - Powell (MK) - Bennett (Doncaster) - Freeman (Stevenage) - McDonald (Sheffield United) - Quinn (Sheffield United) - Jacobs (Northampton) - Clayton (Crewe)
