I've seen it on an article that reading may want him for the first XI :-( He got nowhere near their first XI in the Championship soi I feel it would be unlikely that he woulld be in their first team for the Premier league

They are bound to say that aren't they? They won't say 'He'll rot in our reserves, no-where near good enough for our 1st team but if you want him it'll cost you £1m'. They are just strengthening their position to try extract top dollar for him.

Don't forget he's still a young prospect, not unreasonable to think they might have plans for him. He's certainly capable.

Maybe it's just me, but I thought Lucketti (in his 1st spell) was better than Monkou.
Agreed re: Morrison though.

Not quite as good afterwards and a bit of an embarrassment when he came back ( and a disgrace for refusing to be loaned out so he could continue being paid a fortune for doing f**k all ) Monkou was awesome though, up until the time he realised the club didn't have the ambition he thought it had anyway. Just a level above all the other CBs Ive seen in a town shirt IMO.

Agree-Monkou was F**kin awesome. Just oozed class at Centre back- in the classic dutch mould. The best centre back ive seen at town too. Luckietti was quality too though- real leader and tight defender on the deck and in the air and in possession.
Morrison and Pc could hold their own next season providing we have top noth midfield ball winners.

I don't think anybody would argue a case for Lucketti in his 2nd spell!! That certainly soured my opinion of him overall, but then Monkou left under a cloud too.
Like you say slaps, it's about opinions. I certainly see why some rate Monkou above Lucketti, he had that little bit more class on the ball, but for me Lucketti seemed to have an almost magical ability to be in exactly the right place at the right time, and to be able to lead a line (evidenced when Monkou wasn't alongside him we were still strong at the back).
Best defensive loan signing that I can remember. I'd be bloody delighted to see him here permanently.

You've obviously forgot des Hamilton Haha, oh god.. Anyone else remember that game where Andy Marshall got sent off for Norwich about 10 minutes in and Daryl Sutch replaced him in goal only for us barely to be able to muster a shot on goal in the entire game? Hamilton pulled off two of the most comical air shots I've ever seen on the edge of the area. Think it took an own goal at the death for us to actually get an equaliser. Absolutely painful game to watch.

I'd be happy with the defence if we get Morrison (though another LB would be nice too).

Chatting to a Reading fan at work about his thoughts on us getting Morrison:
"Not really sure; we’re apparently very close to signing Mariappa from Watford for a couple of mill, which would suggest he’s not close to the first team, may open the way for a deal. However, we might still want him as future prospect/ fourth choice central defender. Could be possibility of another loan, although that would be a bit weird cos he’d definitely be more a Huddersfield player than a Reading player then.
We’re all getting our knickers in a twist at the prospect of Sigurdsson being available. That’s our main focus…"

My only worry is, Reading didn't think he was good enough for the championship.

I'll trust what i've seen and say he is def good enough He was here & never played remember, if the guys with the shirt are doing the business, as Readings obviously have been over the last 2 years, then he won't get games. He was obviously sent here to get game time as they recalled him when we didn't play him, which indicates they rate him or why take him back & pay his full wage.

I've seen recently that Reading had a £2 million bid rejected for Adrian Mariappa who is a centre back! So if they get him with the cb's they've already got surely Morrison will not be wanted???

Reading will undoubtedly spending money on new defenders as a weak back four is most common failing for new Premiership sides.
He'll sign, I have not doubt about that, even if we hadn't had him here he must be one of the best CB prospects in the country so would have been on the list anyway!
