Barnsley fans are very confident he is signing for them No disrespect intended to Barnsley and dreamboy in particular. But in a straight choice if he selects Barnsley they are welcome to him because he clearly wouldn't be a full shilling. Only last year they were borrowing (loaning) our players. If he signs for Barnsley he wants guaranteed first team football as opposed to fighting for it here. This! They clearly have lost their way and will do well to finish outside the relegation zone! I mean, who would sign Mido?? :suicide:

Signed for Barnsley. Wouldn't say anything against Barnsley myself been favourites to go down every year since they got up and still in there so fair play to them for that.

It's being reported on Radio Sheffield that Norwood is about to sign for Barnsley.. Well that is interesting considering i also happened to be listening to radio sheffield and it said nothing like that.

surely we will be able to offer him better wages etc a big chunk of barnsleys budget must have gone on signing that egyptian pie eater who claims to be a footballer plus im sure our training facilities etc are far superior to barnsleys :scarf:

big fish at the dingles, would prob be their main man. the kid might not be all about money, may have ambition,ok we are ,on paper,a better club but maybe wont offer him a guaranteed start, the kid might just want to play more football

Ye agreed, he would probs start, alongside... clayton/new transfer? rather have scharner than clayton think clayton n norwood would be too similar let scharner do the dirty work and norwood be the playmaker :scarf:

Radio Sheffield sports bulletin from 6.30......... Barnsley will not find out today whether they have won the race to sign Oliver Norwood . The Man United Midfielder held talks with manager Keith Hill today, but is now considering his next move. Radio Sheffield understand Huddersfield are showing interest, although the reds boss is still optimistic a deal can be done.
What does the lad have to think about to be honest.

:ranting: Barnsley-the equivalent of scunthorpe (cant hack it in championship but survived a fair few years, small fan base, no money) or town-equivalent of leicester maybe (bags of money, great youth set up, decent fan base, will do ok in championship) PS, dont have a go at me for the equivalents, just off top of my head... :scarf:

they have been in the championship a lot longer than us and even though they struggle never seem to go down, depends what they are offering in terms of playing time, surely wages cant be an issue, maybe they are making him capt. or maybe hes seen our recent record on midfielders and how we treat them and thought fuck that!

lets survive one year before we give it the big one. Barnsleeea's recent history pisses all over ours. Pisses is a bit strong? They sporned their way to promotion under Ritchie and have hung on in the Championship ever since. It can't last forever and I reckon once they go down, they could have a long spell away from the top 2 divisions; similar to the one we've just endured

Do any town fans seriously think we'll go back down?! i think we can only build on what we've got and keep climbing up the football league. Ye league 1 got very annoying after 8 or so years but wouldn't mind becoming an established championship club!! :scarf: But if we are gunna go for it, it has to be this season with the financial fair play coming in next season
