Have we turned into L**ds? Less of the arrogance please lads. I was just going to post something similar, cringeworthy. Cringeworthy? Give it a rest! Nothing wrong with a little ambition and, in many ways, we are in a better position than Barnsley as a club! Someone should have told Southampton that then! How dare they! Investing in decent players and infrastructure, playing with confidence and going straight up in their first Champ season! How rude! :iconlol: Good grief! :frusty:

Good grief! There is nothing wrong with ambition. But some replies on this thread sound like they are straight off the Leeds or Sheffield Wednesday forums. Arrogance/bias in the extreme to seriously think no player would choose Barnsley over Town. Not sure the relevance of your Southampton point? I want Town to invest and kick on too. Just find some of the earlier stuff cringeworthy.

Barnsley fans are very confident he is signing for them No disrespect intended to Barnsley and dreamboy in particular. But in a straight choice if he selects Barnsley they are welcome to him because he clearly wouldn't be a full shilling. Only last year they were borrowing (loaning) our players. If he signs for Barnsley he wants guaranteed first team football as opposed to fighting for it here. If he signs and Buttercup re-signs he wouldn't be guaranteed a place here. Out wide we have the likes of Etuhu and JOB, but in the centre where he plays we'd have him, possibly Buttercup, Perkins, Dawson, Mellis, Digby who all play there. Six doesn't go into two (or three should we play five across midfield) It's being reported on Radio Sheffield that Norwood is about to sign for Barnsley.. One of the sports reporters Rob Staton said on Twitter to expect to hear something tomorrow. No guarantee that means he's signing. We are front of the queue but anything could happen.

big fish at the dingles, would prob be their main man. the kid might not be all about money, may have ambition,ok we are ,on paper,a better club but maybe wont offer him a guaranteed start, the kid might just want to play more football given our current central midfield options he doesnt have to worry about not playing

Not sure the relevance of your Southampton point? I want Town to invest and kick on too. Just find some of the earlier stuff cringeworthy. It was an attempt at irony! I'm sure some of there fans got ahead of themselves too this time 12 months ago and look where it got them! I think there are just as many on here who over-react unnecessarily to a handful of town fans getting excited about there club moving up the ranks. I just think cringeworthy is a little melodramatic. I can't see how a player would pick Barnsley over Town and its not arrogance. Players don't got to clubs for their history or background, have a word with yourself! They go to the club with the better funding, ambition and set-up, something most would argue is in our favour in a balance between the two teams........ Lets not make a drama out of it hey............

Barnsley punching well above their weight recently Not showing much ambition if he signs for that lot Why Exactly? They are an established club, unlike us who have been lingering in League for god knows how long and have finally managed to get up. semi recent premiership status, remind me exactly when we achieved that? Remove the arrogance goggles and a move to an established club over a newly promoted one who have signed signed a well known forward is not a bad proposition Would be a good signing but certainly not a dead cert he would pick us. The good thing if we are in the running is the ability of Hoyle and Jarvo to be able to really sell the place to players

You can offer him more money and bigger crowds but that's it. In the past decade we have established ourselves back in this league beating you on the way to continue being by far the longest serving club at second tier level. For the past few years we have broke even without our owner having to write off debt spending money we haven't got. There was also our cup run to the semi final and look at the record of Chelsea in the past five years. You have spent best part of a decade underachieving. Promotion to championship should be bare min expecation for an owner worth so much. I wanted you up but it's disapointing when a few fans show big club arrogance I expect of Weeds or Wendy fans. The abuse on here about Mido has been uncalled for. We have taken a cheap risk with a proven scorer that Keith Hill might just do something with like Vaz Te. I'd take that rather than a reported 800k gamble on a Parlarse striker who scores once every 11 matches.

Some of the arrogance on here is embarrassing. First Palace now Barnsley - people reckoning we're the obvious choice ahead of these established clubs at this level. If/when we do beat these and other clubs to signings then it will be down to a lot of hard work from Deano and Clibbens. At the moment though we do not have a squad that backs up the sort of nonsense some are spouting on here - I'm sure many would swap our midfield for Barnsley or Palace's.

DATM is increased its membership significantly of late so whilst there are many fans with great points and banter, the flip side if you will always attract an element of keyboard warriors with that gobby attitude. I would hope that it doesn't represent the majority of posters on here. For the record, I think the Mido signing and bloody good gamble and if reports of what your paying him is correct (in terms of not much basic) then fair play.

The people posting about how big we are and how we should be attracting this player and that player do not represent the mainstay of the town fan base
Barnsley fans and anyone else for that matter we know our place believe me

This link really excites me to be honest. When we played Scunny away he dominated the game, really impressed me that night.
I can't think of many others I'd like in that CM role, apart from Pirlo.

Mido could prove tyo be a superb signing, or he could be a waste of space. A bit of a gamble but probably one worth taking.
I'd say it'd be easier for a CM to get into the HTFC team than the Barnsley one too. Could be all sorts of reasons why somebody would choose one club over another.
I'd have Norwood here in a heartbeat though.

The examiner article says absolutely nothing really as per
The Star seemed more informed and it's a sad when they know who we are in talks with before our local rag

IF Town sign Oliver Norwood what kind of player would we have got? I personally know nothing about him and I'm pretty sure I've never seen him play. Bear in mind he's only a young lad as well.
