Went to the unveiling of the new town kit tonight in st geoge's square at 9.30 waited half an hour expecting to see the new kit with about 400-500 other town fans but we just got a very poor projection presentation onto the train station building which nobody could really see and the music was all distorted anti climax really. Poor organisation from someone at the club, they should have had at least some of the academy lads or something to come out with the new kit on. On the plus side having got back and actually seen a picture of the kit looks very nice ;D

What a waste of time. Waited 45 minutes with nobody telling us why we were waiting and could hardly see the shirt anyway. Surely we can do better than a white van man pulling up in st Georges Sq and trying to project an poor image onto the railway station. Everyone was just stood there wondering what was going on and then filtered out of the square and that was it. Thought it was a great idea to do it in st georges square but poorly executed. If it had gone to plan it would have been boring anyway

I can't believe people are interested enough to travel into town to go to the launch of the next kit! Not knocking anyone, just find it amazing. Do like the new kit though. White shorts, black socks as it always should be.

The club were trying to be innovative and try something different, in hindsight, the darkness issue seemed to cause an issue but they tried to be creative and produce a spectacle that people would remember...
As for the shirt itself, looks nice, think I shal be asking for some pennies from the boss to get one!

What a shambles tonight.
I left at 10 past 10 as it was very poor, looked on the internet and Sean was on the Town site saying what a spectacular evening it was, when in reality it was tinpot.
The shirt must have taken the whole of 2 minutes on the design table.

To me it looks quite poor around the shoulders where the stripes don't match up.

I went along with low expectations but even so, left completely underwhelmed. If you are going to ask people to come into Town on a Monday night, there needs to be more on offer than that. I at least expected a small sample of Rekorderlig !
It was freezing, and the projection was barely audible and barely visible. No representation from Umbro or Rekorderlig.
A bit of a missed opportunity. i can understand the desire to create an event, but they would have been better organising some kind of evening at the Galpharm and tieing it with a Euro 2012 screening (non Giants match night).
Must try harder Town ...

it was a kit launch, all id expect is to see a new kit, but i stopped getting excited about that around the same time as i pretended to be Kevin Keegan in my new England kit at school,, some people would complain if Kelly Brook modeled it with tit holes cut out and free nipple sucks given

Well it's made the front page of the Examiner (presumably, it's the main story on their website anyway)...so despite the collective moaning on here from people who probably aren't that bothered one way or another, I'm guessing that's job done with a few more lessons learned as far as the marketing bods at Town are concerned.

I'm amazed that sponsors with logos of conventional lettering with no background block of colour (as seems to be the case with Rekorderlig here) bother with teams like town. On a light colour striped shirt the name become pretty much unreadable from more than about 6 feet away. Maybe it will look OK on TV but I'd bet anyone who didn't already know the name couldnt read it unless they were close to the pitch.

I went down to this last night and have to say it was very amateur, surely the projection company must have had an idea about how rubbish the projection would look! I left after it had been played about 4 times so not sure if it would have looked any better as it got darker.
Dean Hoyle made the trip into town a little more worthwhile for me though, he brought the Playoff trophy down and let everyone hold it have there pictures with it etc...what a fantastic bloke :worship:

I have no idea what was going on with it. It all seemed a bit random really, 9:30pm on a Monday night when England have played and there is another game on from England's group. That's taking a lot of football fans out of the equation. Plus a very strange time and day of the week even if you take the Euros away. Would've been better doing it last week in the school holidays and having a bit of a day event for the kids at the stadium (who I presume are the ones who are most interested in stuff like this) with Terry the Terrier, Boothy and maybe a couple of players who aren't on holiday, get some games going and a bit of a tour of the changing rooms or summat.

I sincerely hope the AV company who put this "idea" forward do not get a penny piece for their efforts from Town. There was no way you could see what the shirt looked like, which was why we were there. The music was quiet, or distorted at points, and guessing that this was supposed to create some kind of atmosphere?
The most annoying thing, however was the fact that pictures of the shirt were posted on the website BEFORE the projection show began - completely pointless then asking people to come down into town for a launch!
Now having partaken in several corporate days at Town this season as a customer (Heritage Suite, Matchball etc) I have the utmost respect for how my beloved club interacts with the community, local businesses and the fans in general - they are doing a great job! But this was a bit of a joke to be honest.
On a plus side the shirt/kit is superb!

Sounds like a half decent idea, poorly executed, the teaser vid was also pathetic Im afraid.
Its at this time the club really needs to get stuff like this right and I'm sure it will in future. Nice try, must do better.
The kit looks quality though and out in time for my hols for a change which is nice. Also doesn't seem to be a template design as far as I can tell but then again there's probably some club, somewhere in the world already using it ?
Loving the simplicity, the checks look neat, colour's are all right and no collar thank fk, just hope the V neck is one of those like a round neck rather than the kind of V neck you'd see on a tank top (a la germany euro 2012 kit). If I was being really picky i'd say the stripes are slightly too thin but overall I love it, 9/10.
