Some fairly OK pubs on Rose Street - that's the street that runs parallel to Prince's Street. Plenty of real ale and micro-brewery beers. The Kenilworth springs to mind. 5-10 minutes from the station.
On the way down to the ground there is the Theatre Bar (top of Leith Walk) - real ale again, recommend the Edinburgh Gold - they usually have it on.
If you want it exciting and fancy a bit of a Trainspotting tour head into Leith itself and go to the Port of Leith and the Central bar, but be warned - they are rough places. Along the Shore at Leith is better - The Malt & Hops and the Ship.

Also like the The Farriers on Bernard Street. But if you are coming down from the railway station to Easter Road these are the other side of the ground. But as Kenny K2 says there is virtually a pub on every corner going down Leith Walk. If anybody is staying the night the Grassmarket isn't a bad place to start, though once there you'll probably not leave.

When I lived up there Leith was famous for its "women" who looked after the sailors "welfare".
Will be in Glasgow and Edinburgh next week so a bit too early for the game but will have my Good Beer Guide in my pocket.
You need a few pints just to get over the mess the council have done to the city centre.
Looks like we've another supporters club in the making.

Most of the bars on the corners of roads on Leith Walk are pretty grubby, there are a couple of good 'uns further up though, past where you'd cut through to get to the ground. Victoria and Boda are about 5 mins further up on the right hand side and do decent proper ale.

Being a Hibs fan this was great news for me. Until I realised I've been invited to both a wedding and a birthday party that day too! Damn folks and their plans.
Would have been good to get along to this and maybe meet up with some travelling fans, me and my brother have been meaning to get down to a game for the last few years so having contacts would be good too.
Although from this thread there seems to be a few Edinburgh based Town fans around already, maybe we should organise a bus sometime!
