Disappointed we ain't got him because I think he's a good player. Hopefully the signings we do get are better though.

To be honest I am not too disappointed but that all depends on the calibre of player we will sign

Leeds seem to be going for Grayson potential signings, strange that as Warnock is a totally different manager, plus I thought they had no dosh

Unless we throw daft wages at them. *tin hat on* I'm not too sure. If last season is anything to go by, Leeds are on a bit of a downward spiral right now, and I'd be intrigued to know how Warnock is going to 'sell' the club to potential players. Everyone in football knows what a state the club is in behind the scenes, and unless these takeover talks are more advanced than you or I know, players must be going into negotiations with some trepidation. We *should* have more money to throw at players and *should* be able to sell the vision of the club a bit easier, but Leeds do have the history and the reputation that could sway things in their favour.

Knowing how tight bates is, I imagine we would be able out muscle them in terms of a financial deal which would suggest he wasn't a SG target and it's just paper talk like 99% of them all

I'm not sure that Grayson has confirmed we were after anybody yet. I've not seen anything of that. Strong rumours re: Green, Andrews, Gillett & McCormack, but no confirmed targets that I'm aware of.
I don't know much about him tbh - although it's disappointing (if indeed we did try to sign him) to see us miss out on players, it happens.
They are perceived to be a bigger club, it's understandable that players would be more drawn to them than us. Bloody frustrating though.

The scum were just struggling to come up with the money.

Leeds were after Peter Clarke?? He spoke to them out of courtesy, but he had already given his word to Lee Clark.

You're suggesting he agreed terms some time ago but they couldn't afford to pay his wages...but now they can, even though he doesn't become a Leeds player until July...so probably won't be paid by them for another 6 weeks at least ?? It seems unlikely that their well documented cashflow problems would affect the signing of such a player?? Or they agreed terms that they couldn't afford, and now they've got a transfer fee incoming to bank that will ease them onwards??? (although they've not announced the cash sale of any players, or released any other players in the meantime).

Captain dodgy had agreed terms with Green, thinking he had some financial backing coming in. That backing was on the verge of collapse and the deal was on the rocks. I can only assume that 'fingers' has got some backing from somewhere.
