Haha!!! Yeah and it's corrupted his mind
Serious note, if Rhodes stays and we do in fact sign McCormack and Clayton, plus Dervite would anyone else be expecting anyone else in?

He has been 'signing' for Palace in the next 'couple of days' for a week now. I hope he signs for Palace, cos anyone who criticises his manager just after he leaves has no loyalty for anyone other than for themselves and his 'fans'. He would not have said anything he is reported to have said if he knew his ex boss might be in for him. I'm not entirely sure if I would welcome McCormack as a signing I can only imagine he must have been mis-quoted, if its true and he did slag grayson off he'd have to be mental to sign him again !! sounds like there were some bad apples in that yids team and they were probably encouraged by bates to discredit grayson.

Said I 'thought' he was Australian Still is for me Born in the US but moved to Oz as a kid where he stayed until well into adulthood. Think he had some Australian lineage also. I guarantee none of us are claiming him though.

Clayton's agent is also mccormacks agent. McCormack agent is Soccermanagements Rab Douglas. I don't think Soccermanagement look after Clayton?

Some Leeds fans are very sure that Luke Varney is going their way from Portsmouth & he expressed a desire to play there - which presumably means that McCormack would be allowed to go? To Town if we are keen on him?

HTFC Striker options:
Rhodes Novak Scanell Lee Spencer Higgs Ward
Plus there's the loan market if we have an injury crisis. Do we really need another striker?
OK, Higgs & Scanell can also play on the wing, Ward probably wll bu there's a lot of players have to be injured before we get to the stage of putting Ward up top. They're still options that have played up front before.
How many goals did Novak get last season as our 2nd striker? Worth his place imo.
Don't get me wrong, if we bring in a class forward then I'll not be too upset, but I'd rather our resources were spent in other areas first. I'm not too worried about our attacking options but we look very weak defensively.
I'd rather start with Rhodes & Scanell (or Novak) up front than start with Kay or McCombe in defence.

The others either not good enough or they're not strikers We need a quality partner for Rhodes

i think novak will be a good player in the championship as he will chase down lost causes and put pressure on defenders and i dont think they will like it. he will create chances for players like rhodes, ward and scannell, dont forget we supposedly have midfielders who can score goals so they may profit from his work rate. however i do see him being an impact sub coming on after 55/60 mins against tiring defenders.

The others either not good enough or they're not strikers We need a quality partner for Rhodes I'd agree that some in that list aren't good enough to be regular starters, but how many regular starters do we need? 3, maybe 4. Any more than that & you've got hell on keeping them happy & making good use of them all. We'd have to have a major injury crisis AND not be able to get anybody in on loan to be in a position to be forced to use our 6th/7th choice striker. Contrast that do our options in central defence & midfield. P Clarke Wallace Kay McCombe T Clarke How many of those would you be happy starting against Cardiff? Arfield T Clarke Gobern Robinson Atkinson Kay Who in that list offers real competition to Norwood & Clayton? Who would you play alongside them if we wanted a 3-man midfield?

I personally see Scannell as a replacement for Roberts rather than a striker, but obviously he can move to striker if needed. I really think we need to offload Alan Lee, and maybe Jimmy Spencer too if we do manage to get McCormack.

Didn't Palace fans say Scanell was better up front than on the wing?
(I'm going from memory, so happy to be proved wrong there.)

I think Novak may now be ready to take on the Championship, but more because he has now cut out chasing every lost cause, and now presses much more sensibly, looks more composed on the ball and him and Rhodes know each other's game.
If we're going a bog standard 4:4:2, I'd still be hoping for Lee to move on and would expect Scannell to be more of a winger. However, we don't really know a great deal about Scannell nor what formation Grayson is likely to opt for. A 4:2:3:1 would see Novak likely start on the bench and significantly reduce the need and our ability to attract another striker.

Footie fans generally get too hung up on favourite players, etc. Managers would want some flexibility in their squad - hence why the likes of Kay and Tom Clarke are kept on - they are not the best in a given position but are great in a squad.
Up front, having Scannell able to play wing and striker will be great and a vast improvement on the couple of occasions when we tried Roberts and Ward as second striker.
How the poster above put it is spot on - NO, I would not see those players being in the team ahead of the new and proposed signings.
