A 2 week trial would make more sense than a 2 year deal. If he looks good, maybe give him a deal then. Otherwise let him go & it frees up a squad place for somebody else. A two week trial from when though? Pre season would seem a bit unfair if we are asking him to up sticks from Spain. If Grayson thinks he will be good for us, then we need to trust him. He will get some signings right, he will get some wrong. Why unfair? He doesn't appear to figure in Villareal's plans so he's not missing much there & it's a chance for him to get a contract elsewhere. So long as we reimburse his travel & accomodation expenses I don't see the problem. |

But the danger is he does well for us in the trial and is then poached by bigger fish. It has happened before!

the thing is larry and his merry men could have been watching this lad for a while playing in villareal b games,"developement games" from their time at the skip,
so if they fancy him im damn sure they will have done their research over a stated period of time.
we are stuck on the notion morrison has to come back if thats not an option for whatever reasons then we do have to look else where and im glad that we are not putting the preverbiall eggs in one basket and that we are looking outside the box a bit

Anyone that saw the great Iwan Roberts would have kicked him out after two months never mind two weeks. And he only came from Watford. |

Good grief, you are the the most pessimistic person I have ever seen on this board,! A miserable defeatist answer to everything, where did Clarke come from? Southend.
