Is it just me? I see nothing wrong with any of that Apart from the spelling obviously. At least they know who's boss.

Tell them whatever you like, but show them enough respect to tell them face to face at least.

For me it's the fact he's texted them all that info when he could quite easily have grouped them all together and told them face to face. Comes across as a bit of cowardice on Westleys part.

You fear for where PNE will end up with he and Ridsdale at the helm.

Read it again they had already been told, no doubt face to face. It's pretty obvious he's been battling "player power" since taking over there. Good luck to him.

I can't see anything wrong with it either. There was massive unrest amongst the players at Preston when he came in and totally changed the training regime last season to the methods that had brought him success at Stevenage. He obviously wants to get players in who are prepared to work like that and get rid of the ones who were crying like babies last season.
It's not guaranteed to work out but he's better doing that than compromising the beliefs that got him the job in the first place.

See nothing wrong with what Westley has done there. He'd already told the players beforehand and is just following it up with a text to save them the wasted effort of coming all the way to the ground.

He basically alienates the players that he does not like even if they are some of the clubs best players.
His tactic has been to tear apart the whole playing squad and it is clear that many people do not like him as he is very hard to work with.

He's not there to be liked, he's like a throwback to a previous era, rules with a rod of iron. No big time Charlies gonna be allowed to piss him about, be interesting next season.

Yeah I think they will do very well next season . His prickly character and unusual methods brought him 2 promotions with Stevenage so I doubt he's too worried about who likes him or not.

I think it's appalling. Westley's tactics may have worked in non-league and "pub league 2", but basically if you have any skill whatsoever he doesn't want to know you. Hume and Coutts are the two most technically gifted players at Deepdale, so no surprise there imo. I hope his team of skilless yes men, who may be good at bleep tests & bench presses, but not much else get relegated. so the myth that is Graham Westley can finally be burst and he can return to the Blue Square Premier!

Two more big time Charlies bite the dust then. It's quite simple either do things my way or there's the highway. :wave2: You appear to think leagues one and two are the equivalent of the Blue Square Premier? ;D

He'll fail at Preston - well already is doing. He was above his own station - did very well at Stevenege but will always be one of those managers who does better at an underdog...maybe even a one club man.

I don't see much wrong with the text......it was only a "touch base" reminder that the shouldn't turn up for pre-season. He can't be too bad of a manager if you take into account the number of Players (majority of whom have worked with him before) that are willing to sign for HIM, let's face it, it's not like Preston are in a position to offer megabucks.
He does come across as a massive Bellend though!!

The club needs a total overhaul and they have attracted a few quality league one players - for example Scott Laird and Lee Holmes. Way too early to judge properly. I personally can't stand him granted, but I think he will have success at Preston.

It's a bit like here, he's got to put his own team together before they'll know. He doesn't strike me as a loser.

Preston was rotten from the Phil brown era. The culture of losing needs to be broken and standards implemented The only way forward was to rip it all up and start again. That's what he seems to be doing.
Personally I'd have a bet on Preston to go up via the playoffs this season.
