I think he (Westley) should remember, that the players, that he regards as obsolete, are still human beings with feelings. I fully understand that football is a cut throat business, with each team's manager wanting the "best players", but to treat your staff many with mortgages & young children in such a way is appalling. They are human beings first & foremost, I understand the need for a revolving door, but show some respect for people Question: How would you like to receive a text message over the weekend from your manager "telling you that your sacked" At least have the integrity to tell the person to their faces, that your moving them on I hope he ends up on a losing end of an industrial tribunal Lee Clark could well have found himself there he certainly wasn`t an innocent at being a bad and somtimes petulant "man manager".

He'll fail at Preston - well already is doing. He was above his own station - did very well at Stevenege but will always be one of those managers who does better at an underdog...maybe even a one club man. How is he failing? The club needs a total overhaul and they have attracted a few quality league one players - for example Scott Laird and Lee Holmes. Way too early to judge properly. I personally can't stand him granted, but I think he will have success at Preston. They have Peter Ridsdale in charge. They will be in administration this time next year

As Town fans we really shouldn't be pointing fingers when talking about face to face professionalism. A point which has sailed over all heads.

I am no apologist for westley but don't understand the fuss tbh. Not unlike mr ternent and mr warnock here in the past, he was employed to rid the club of its recent also ran status and he is choosing to do that via getting rid of some of their so called best players. (for Hume and coutts read Roberts and Starbuck) Whether who he brings in does the job or not, surely he deserves the chance to do the job his way??? How many fans were telling Grayson to ship out the "deadwood" when we lost at PNE last April? Westley rightly thinks some of his talented but inconsistent players have been taking the piss - he was employed to change things and should be allowed to do so.

..........not sure about Westley.
Would anybody still have Hulme here?. I think he could do a job for us, granted not as a first choice but would be handy to have in the squad and is a good player with Championship experience.

Tell them what Giggity? read it through and let it sink in, he says they already know they have no future at Preston, they have been told previously. It's about training schedules, hardly needs to be face to face surely Edit....Iwasn't thinking about being a throwback to the 70s and 80s, more 50s and 60s Come back Stan Cullis!! The contents of the text message. Texting the ostracised players that news is the embodiment of cowardice. A face to face meeting would have been a professional measure that may have gained him some respect from the 'outcasts'. Instead, he resorted to petulance. No wonder Richard Wright left the club after only one week. Family reasons? Give over. Is this the same Richard Wright who spent 4 years at Everton - less than 30 miles from Preston?!?!? Maybe didn't believe what he'd heard about Westley but made his mind up pretty sharpish when he had more contact with him!!!
