Every club has it's decent fans and its idiots.
Beyond that though, there is a distinct culture at each club. The general culture at Huddersfield is different to the one at Rochdale, which in turn is different to the one at Sheffield Wednesday, which in turn is different to the one at Birmingham City, which in turn.... etc etc.
I'd always considered Brighton & Hove Albion to be a class club with class supporters. That view was backed up by the reception Brighton fans gave Boothy on his last ever game for the club. For what it's worth I'd consider Brighton to be one of the favourites for promotion to the Premier league this season.
This thread though has just given us a reminder of my earlier point. Every club has its idiots. I just hope this is just a few isolated jumped up pricks & not a change in culture at a club I'm beginning to lose respect for.
Jordan Rhodes is priced at £8M. Offer £5M & you won't get him. That simple.
Now go away, you're boring.

Brighton fan in peace. Having read some of the nonsense spouted by supposed fans of our club, I though I would try to bring some sanity to this thread. Firstly, respect to you and your club. Congratulations on your overdue promotion. Whilst everybody overvalues their own assets i personally think that 8 million is a little steep and surely beyond our clubs resources. I am sure that I would be very happy to have JR at our club....but honestly...why would he. Would you consider it best to keep hold of JR or use the extra cash to strengthen your squad? We are at present increasing the quality of our squad and hope to make a good push at promotion. We will enjoy the good times and hope that there are many of them...god knows we have gone through some shit over the years. Anyway cheers for reading and enjoy the season. P.s Brighton fans as with all others are generally good fans..its just the idiots we cannot stop.

Brighton fan in peace... Personally, I hope he isnt the big signing we have been promised, I know he's good, very good, but not sure about the Championship, and I think he wouldnt get many games with most premier sides.. I think you should try and hang on to him personally... Saw one post about Brighton bringing almost 50 supporters to Huddersfield? Tongue in cheek I hope haha. Saw another couple of posts about the Amex stadium being the best ..just being opinion... Well it was good opinion.. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sussex-18084063Do Huddersfield need to sell him or has he asked to go? If neither hang on to him...good strikers in the championship are difficult to get hold of. If you have a ready made one...well...carry on as before surely.

Not really relevant. All that's saying is "Brighton won an award for the best new venue", not "Brighton has 1 of the best stadiums".

Its a pretty pointless argument really...its a good stadium...and that was in the world...not the UK.. and has been appreciated as such by people in the know..... and that was the second award it recieved...but back to Jordan..
Why the speculation over him..has he asked to leave? Do you need to sell him? If he was a Brighton player, Id want him to stay..

As far as I'm aware, Rhodes hasn't asked to leave; think he knows the score and seems to be a level headed and genuine guy - doubt he'd be advised to request to go to a club in the same league. We don't need to sell him - Deano seems to be putting in the money we need to buy quality players to add to the squad without selling. He's also on a long contract which will add to his value. Unless we receive an offer that matches our high valuation, he won't be going.

Wasn't Booth's last game at Layton Orient? Or am I just making that up? Also the galpharm won a few awards when that was new didn't it?

I'd always considered Brighton & Hove Albion to be a class club with class supporters. That view was backed up by the reception Brighton fans gave Boothy on his last ever game for the club. His last ever game was at Leyton Orient? I distinctly remember it as I missed his goal whilst in the toilet.

I just dont see him fitting into our teams style of play anyway, so bit confused about the sudden speculation in him, particularly with Brighton....

Probably because Brighton are splashing the cash a bit and signing some high profile players - very easy to make a story linking him with the hottest property outside of the PL .

apart from wages, I dont think Brighton are splashing the cash...yet.. Two free transfers and a loan so far..... nice to know Man City are paying Bridges 80k a week, whilst we pay 10k... but yeah, for sure he's a hot property...Id like to see Huddersfield keep him myself...and sign McCormack just to piss off Palace fans who are pretty convinced he has already signed for them.

Further to your question, has JR asked to move?
Not as far as we know. Also there are strong rumours on here from people who claim to know him/his family, that a) he's happy at the club and b) he doesn't want to move down South.
Add to that the strong rumours that our Chairman turned down more than £5million in the January in the January transfer window (from Premier League Clubs) it seems unlikely he'd now accept less from a non Premier League Club. Dean Hoyle has said he wouldn't want to stand in the way of the lad bettering himself if the right money comes along, but doesn't have to sell and doesn't want to sell. So I would have thought that even if the money offered was right (and £5M isn't right) Dean would advise against a move to anywhere other than Premier League. It's not going to further his career moving to a club for Championship experience when he can get that with his present club.
So the £5M move to Brighton just doesn't add up, neither does a move down South, even to a Premier League club, if our local rumours are to be believed.

No disrespect to Brighton, but why on earth would Rhodes want to go there? They are in the same boat as us, have the same chance as us of promotion and he'd be moving 300 miles from home. Doesn't make sense

My apologies. Boothy's last ever *home* game was vs Brighton. Either way he got a hell of a reception from the away fans, especially considering that he's never had any connection to their club. paulyboy - Nice to see the balance redressed a bit!! We don't need to sell JR & he's happy to stay. He's been priced at £8M & yes it's a bit steep but we haven't priced him with a view to selling. We've priced him with a view to keeping him. If a massive offer came in from a premier league club then fine, he's earned his move - but he's likely to be worth a lot more after banging in 20+ in the championship. Nobody is going to offer what he's worth to us as a club so I can't see him starting the season with anybody else.

In answer to your question, Town do not need to sell Rhodes, so will only listen to sensible offers - probably in excess of 6 million, maybe more. I look forward to visiting the Amex this coming season. It looks awesome. Congratulations on the award. Talking of awards, The McAlpine was the first footy stadium to win the National Architecture award, and also the first unfinished building to ever win same; it was missing one end at the time! I hope only teams in blue and white finish in the top three this season.

No disrespect to Brighton, but why on earth would Rhodes want to go there? They are in the same boat as us, have the same chance as us of promotion and he'd be moving 300 miles from home. Doesn't make sense They are ambitious, progressive, have money, and also have an award winning ground. Also, didn't Poyet win some management award recently, and not for drawing consecutive games? I can't see Rhodes going there, but it's not beyond the bounds of possibility. Mickael-Smith surprised a few folk by going there last year. I look forward to seeing the Amex next season.

He won't go, why risk a pretty much guareenteed starting role here and go to brighton were he may not fit or settle when it's the same level ultimately, not logical!
