According to the Sunday Mail we're in for both players. I know the rumours have been rife about McCormack and he'd be a cracking signing but I've not seen us linked with O'Dea before. Would be 2 good signings for us if they come off. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18759038

O'Dea is in our age range, 21-25, and looks like a big lad. The amount of centre backs that we've been linked to now - you';d have thought we could be getting a couple.

Leeds fans hated o'dea seems to be unpopular wherever he goes, don't know why.

O'dea has been released by Celtic after being on loan to Ipswich and leeds - Makes you wonder why they aren't offering him a contract?

I mentioned O'Dea to a Celtic supporting friend of mine, he said that "if we were in the same position as Rangers & had to start in Div3, that useless tw@ still wouldn't get a game"

Any defender would be a let down if they're not Sean Morrison.

He can't be THAT bad, can he? Apparently played every game he was available for Leeds last season and won Ireland's young player of the year. SG's obviously seen him first-hand for months too.

I'd like think that SG has a better eye for a player than town supporters on datm. If he hasn't then he won't last long as town manager!!! I've got my full trust in SG in the transfer market and whoever he gets will do for me and that includes Darren O'Dea.

Typical DATM ;D A player who we've seen play once , if at all, can be either- obviously a brilliant signing, or a complete donkey we don't want.

Admittedly I'm going off opinions I don't know much of him other than Leeds mates and Celtic mates
Same as I've gone off people's opinions for the other 4, all which have been consistently good
This lad has been regularly seen as a bit poor
Therefore he is crap and I condemn him to the rubbish pile

Love it how despite probably having seen these players once possibly twice, a lad from Celtic who was a regular championship starter last season is terrible and not good enough yet some French kid who's played 18 games for Southend is a worldbeater !!
I await the DATM Championship Manager experts to recommend a Botswana U-21 international from Spartak Moscow reserves.

O'Dea has played absolutely brilliantly for Ireland alongside Richard Dunne. He was playing in Moscow when we drew 0-0, and the only reason for that was because of the type of defending you see every decade or so. He could thrive alongside someone like Peter Clarke. He's a good lad and game as a pebble. Give him a chance.
Also he was man of the match in a game against AC Milan for Celtic a few years ago. A good manager is all he needs.
