We asked if he was available, Stevenage said yes for £750k, we said er - no thanks, we were thinking more like 250k.
I know you all want to hear about who we are going to sign rather than who we aren't but.................I just thought I'd mention it as it seems a bit of a departure from others that we had been targeting as he has come from non-league & doesn't have Championship experience.

Sky Sports understands Peterborough are closing in on a deal to sign Stevenage midfielder Michael Bostwick. Bostwick is expected to sign a three-year deal at London Road. by skysportspeteo 9:17 AM

Our contact was about 2 weeks ago. Stevenage had expected us to get back in touch with an offer of about half a million but we moved on apparently!!!

Thanks for the info - I don't think theres any problem reporting factual information on the messageboard. Its the wind up d**kheads who aren't welcome in my opinion

It is always nice to know the players we have actually had some interest in. I'd rather know this than someone giving a ridiculous rumour.

Bostwick is a good sitter in midfield and a huge threat from set pieces. Bit pricey at 750k though... Think he'll do alright in the Championship.

Better options for 750k. His shoot on site policy will work better at Pboro where the groundsman manages 1 every 3 games.

The £750k quoted was the opening gambit of a haggling process!! I don't think for a minute that they will get more than £300k for him!!

That shows how much my opinion is worth!!!! It appears that Peterborough matched Stevenages valuation of £750,000.......mugs.

That is a gamble - might pay off, might be a more expensive Anton Robinson

Tyrone Barnett from Crawley was supposed to cost them £1.2m, so technically it's over 1.5m total but you'd think he'd have said nearly 2m!!!

Worth it for about 500k - a very good player imo edit- think we will regret missing out on him he would have been a very good option to have if nothing else

As a side note, it appears that Stevenage are making wholesale changes to their squad. That must be 10 in and 12 out or something.
