Think hes currently probably worth about £500k, but don't think we'd sell him unless it was maybe 3 times that.

Think thats what happens when you are blessed with an owner like Deano. Because we're in the fortunate position of not HAVING to sell anybody, all our better players have 2 values- their real market value based on their age, experience, ability, and then their value to us- how much it would take us to sell a player we'd rather keep.

People (& there are many on here) who think peltier can play defensive midfielder either didn't watch enough of his games there or don't appreciate the step up at championship level. One key difference will be ball retention. Peltier's ball retention, first touch and awareness were not good enough for a CM at league one level. (though out clark's reign we were constantly outplayed in centre mid- culmination in play off final. McCann versus peltier, arfield and Kilbane (who couldn't pass wind between them) it was painful to watch- & entirely predictably. (As I said many times I knew we'd get hammered when I saw the ridiculous team sheet)
Playing peltier at Cb was evidence of the manager's clueless desperation at the time.
We wont be doing that in the Championship mar my words.
Hunty for right back. He has a massive future.

Think hes currently probably worth about £500k, but don't think we'd sell him unless it was maybe 3 times that. No way!! 20 year old attacking full back with a wicked cross and more than 10 assists in a season! Worth far far more than that. He is already a cracking young player who will get better

A lot have said about us needing a defensive midfielder... But experienced - scharner then. Could drop back in as 3 rd centre half when defending a lead late on !

I'm a little amazed that folks are talking of Hunt leaving. If Deano is holding firm on Rhodes what makes you think he will let Hunt go? As been said, he's young and improving tremendously each year, exactly the kind of player the Chairman wants and continues to sign this summer...Clayton, Norwood etc. And according to the Twitter interview thru his son, Hunt is Deano's favorite player.
Oh yea, and Brum are just throwing the money around right?

Pelts was good as a midfielder because he could tackle and run around a lot when we had no legs, nothing else to offer that the Clarkes other defenders could offer. A great defensive right back, and was good when overlapping with Pilks for a while and a danger at set pieces in the air. Hunt is good going forward, the beating heart of the team, and getting better defending, but I fear he may get shown up at the Championship level defensively, as may Woods. Pelts would be a great signing for the price quoted with experience and being a Town man, but why would he choose Town with Hunt in pole position? it may also bring into play the dreaded Bingo machine team selection scenario. Anywhere but Leeds Pelts.

I would love to see him back here. He would give Hunt something to think about and would be just the type of grafter our midfield still looks to be lacking.
With regards to the price on players heads I think that folk need to appreciate the difference between "our price" & "value". The two will rarely be aligned especially when we want to keep the player.

He's not going to come back just to give Hunt something to think about and we've already signed 2 central midfielders to go with the numerous ones we've already got.

given how good clayton and norwood are with the ball i think pelts could definitly do well in midfield with them.
he wouldnt need to do much more than win the ball, give it to one of the others, head, cover, press, drop back in to/behind the cb's to cover etc all of which he is quite capable of and would give the others the freedom.
would also mean higgs could play in CM when required.with the added bonus he could provide competition for hunt, who as much as i rate him could struggle next season at times (no shame in that he's still young and unexperienced).
