From same at palace that said we'd tied up scannell deal.. Deal was done with palace and clubs had agreed fee and RM wages but at last minute Warnock has changed his mind and said the deal could only happen if Joel ward is part of the deal who chose palace over Leeds a few weeks back! Where that leaves us is anyone's guess!!

Good rumour but surely that would depend on the player actually wanting to go to Leeds, sounds like a good cover up story for RM changing his mind after speaking to the 'infectious' DH?

That's old news Kosi. Just as a matter of interest, now your mate has left are you still a Wednesday 'secondary supporter' or have you transferred that capacity to another club? I know you are a true town blue, so this in't a criticism.

Last season was the perfect scenario!! - infact with them going up and us beating united in final - if carlsberg did seasons!!....

Same guy says palace have no intention of selling ward. Surprised he is even being targetted, they only bought him at the end of May and they paid £400k for him!

They have signed McCormack that many times it is untrue. Basically it is all a load of rubbish and should not be taken with a pinch of salt. He and his agent will play clubs off until he gets what he wants, but i doubt town will be held to ransom and hang around if it is at all true about us wanting him in the first place.

Is it time for Town to move on on RM.? I think that if we start looking at alternatives then we can't be played off by Warnock/Bates/? against Palace. Leeds need the cash to get a replacement so they will try and create a demand for RM that will increase the price. Plenty out there as good as McCormack (IMHO)

According to Nixon from the mirror our 1.4m bid plus bigger wages looks set to bag him Hope it's not that much, unless it's 600k up front with the additional 800k being paid if he ever manages to outscore Jordan.... The McCormack saga is starting to wear me out a little bit.....

Had a quick look on the palace forum and they appear to have their own version of BOBINA, Called Bristol red. His last post yesterday was McCormack to sign for Town Today at 9.AM. The palace fans are asking him what has happened then about towns so called announcement.... his reply is a killer...
Getting word that ross broke down on the m62 and is going to be late for his photos. Medical issues all sorted now, so it all just depends on AA reponse time
Brilliant.. :appl: :appl: :appl:

1.2m for a proven goalscorer in this league is a bargain IMO.

Even when he's in the last year of his contract? I've come round to thinking he and Rhodes could play together but that does seem pricey in the circumstances.

Surprised he is even being targetted, they only bought him at the end of May and they paid £400k for him! Shame for us that he moved so early (a day or two after the playoff final IIRC) as I'm sure we'd have been interested. Would've been a cracking buy if we could've got him.

I think the figure may be paper talk anyway. We will get him for a lot less reading a ITK posters comment on the summer transfer thread. But when you think we sold Stead for a similar figure when we were two divisions below, I personally think 1.2m would be a bargain.. Leeds won't sell their top scorer cheaply even in last year of his contract would be no point to do so may aswell get another season out of him.

Be a good signing if true and will take some of the responsibility off Jordan to bag most of our goals. Would rather see us have a threat from both our first choice strikers than playing Jordan with Lee who doesn't pose any kind of goal threat.
Would be well chuffed with McCormack - Rhodes and Novak as back up. If we can get a quality centre half in then I think Grayson and Deano have the makings of a pretty decent squad at this level.

As much as Rhodes was unbelievable last season, the set up of the team and tactics was always going to reduce the likelihood of others scoring.
I can see Rhodes and McCormack working, as the latter isn't just a goal poacher. However, I'd be amazed if playing someone like ALF with Jordan wouldn't be an unmitigated disaster.

Who needs McCormack when Novak is such a damned good alternative. I hate the way Novak is undervalued by us lot cos the lad has enough class to make it at least at our present level. Even if he doesn't he has the potential to make us a tidy profit at a lower level.
Don't underestimate this guy cos he has already stepped up several levels and has proved comfortable. Novak is ace.

Novak will be good back up in the Championship, not sure he is quite ready to start every week. McCormack a proven goalscorer at this level would be an excellent signing for us, we need to have 3 decent striking options IMO.

Can't hurt to have a number of options to choose from though, suppose if one of them gets injured!
