www.northstandchat.com/showthread.php?248811-Andy-CarrollLet's never be like this, eh. Even if we make a couple more cracking signing before the season starts, and we string some wins together. Let's keep our foot on t'ground. Que sera sera - the attitude around the club going into the play-off final was perfect

They also seem to have normal fans too. Someone else wrote.....
"Please can a mod delete this before supporters from different teams see this & we become a huge laughting stock."

I think some people were often guilty of being a little like that on DATM when we were in L1. Gladly a lot less of that now we're in the Champ.

I've come into contact with some fantastic Brighton fans through my site. Never had any trouble with them and have had plenty of support from them despite taking the p*** out of their team on several occasions.
I remember after we thumped them 7-1 I had several emails from them hoping for a report and wishing Town all the best. Never had anything like that from Oldham or Barnsley fans, etc.
While realising that every club has a mixed set of fans, Brighton have always seemed to have more decent ones than most of other clubs I've come into contact with. That said, I haven't been on Northstandchat since they were in the same division as us so I'm guessing they may have picked up a few extra members since promotion and the move to the new stadium.

You were arrogance personified in 2011.

You can understand a bit of a rush of blood. They had years of problems with the stadium and, like us, struggling in the lower divisions, then they get a new stadium, a good manager, play some really decent football and have a couple of cracking seasons.
If we had done what they have recently we would be probably be suffering from a little too much oxygen.

Completely agree, which is why all this seems a bit strange - they were a L1 outfit with us just over a year ago...

Some on here have fallen into that trap though.... Some of the comments you can read at time are embarassing but every club has some fans like that, doesn't change the vast majority who are realists and decent like the majority of their fans and ours

Pretty much everyone in the part I read of that thread was saying how daft the OP is. Since we're hardly immune to the odd daft post I'd say we're pretty much already like that, as are most other teams I imagine.

hi from one of the more sensible posters on nsc, all clubs have idiots brighton are no exception however we do seem to have picked up more than our fair share of fishermen :fish: (oh no time for another gay joke i suspect ) however we are happy with our summer signings (polish internatonal keeper ,Tomasz Kuszczak ) (spanish full back Bruno Saltor ) and to get wayne bridge for the season was a real coup, considering our wage structure. Oh and El Punal (vicente )is back and training with us :celebrate: Attachments:

There's no doubting they're good signings but that's the level required in the Championship nowadays.

Would you consider Romario a world class signing? I'm not having a pop, but your signings seem 'over the hill' to me. But, all the best.

If that's over the hill then I think Ian Bennett's doing a pretty good job aged 65
