Well I guess I'm naive then to think Deano will decide when Jordan goes and not his agent. How silly of me.

You all live in a fantasy world. If Rhodes says he wants to join Blackburn Rovers no matter what Hoyle says he'll be joining them. Think some people need to wake up over this. Jordan Rhodes is under contract, Deano Hoyle holds are cards and I doubt he would sell them whatever the price now. That Rovers fan who came gobbing off on here about respect, where are you now? Disgusting behavior by Rovers who should be reported to the FA for deliberately trying to unsettle JR No Class - Pathetic -

Its a bit like the idea DH would give him a 20k pay rise 'to get him to stay'. He doesn't have to- hes already staying unless DH decides he can leave.

Think Blackburn are coming close to being one of the most disliked teams this season!

Unless DH is happy with the money on offer AND JR wants to move to the club offering the money -he'll be staying put. DH has said this time and time again.
Footballers are not slaves and transfer fees are not bribes. Transfer fees are 'compensation' paid to the selling club for loss of services, should a player decide to move on -after having agreed terms with the buying club. They're not meant to be a bribe offered by the buying club to persuade the selling club to give the player his P45 and push him out of the door.
None of the parties concerned can force JR to do anything against his will, without risking falling foul of UK employment law. JR is contracted at Town for another 3 years, Town are legally obliged to honour that contract or compensate him for his financial loss -unless it is entirely his decision to move.
Does anybody REALLY think that JR is desperate for a move to Blackburn Rovers?

Good detective work... I will add to that. 12th March he was named player of the year (or a day or two before) at the Football League dinner. Maybe he had a clause in his contract that triggered that? Or Town gave him an enhanced deal... but surely they would have announced it, especially if it added a year (or more) onto his deal..

I reckon it didn't add any time to the deal. Just a higher wage. Your probably right about him winning the award triggered it. If you in April you can see that Hunt signed his extension on 1st of April and that wasn't announced until after the play offs. That might have been appearance based. FA publish every player registration change, and you can look at them all here if you are interested: www.thefa.com/TheFA/RulesandRegulations/PlayerRegistrations.aspx
