A new bus company (ta ra robbing star) for this trip and a big game to boot! Despite rumours of a lie in, thanks to the old bill raiding the flat below at 4.40am - it was a zombie like Kosmala who got the car out of the garage at 715 to head to chapel allerton to pick up mr shortbread and his family. Straight up to roberttown Cafe for a breakfast of champions. The chat was around how everyone was up for this trip! Not just a full bus but a bus full of real characters! The brighouse boys back, pud back, and Neil and poz making their much awaited dayboos! Down to the club and already the ale is flowing with pete yelling "ALAN, ALAN LEE" as he entered. A bit much after pish all sleep! just looking around who was boarding the York Pullman you knew it would be a great day.
So our new transport had arrived and the bus looked like summat from the 1970s - maybe word had got back to York about the MPC and they were instructed to send their worst coach!! The coach filled up very quickly with army right at the front side. Unusual for him but good for me as I'd have a clearer listen of the "yellow bird" - so I hoped. One of the reasons for the very front seats for me was I thought I could get a bit of shut eye. Shortbread pete soon ended that chance by firing up the CDs and unfortunately the sound system was as loud as fook - and I mean loud!! "Da da da" one of the classics that was played amongst many others! Harris i could not believe! "a thin fat c***" hed been christened by bull - thats one way of putting it!! The mayor of cov had invited us all down to his local pre game and everyone was buzzing! The news from the back was that the toilet was full and overflowing - welcome to the MPC mr York Pullman driver!! The journey on the way down seemed to take forever and lack of sleep and shortbreads loudest ever cd was doing little to brighten the mood!!
At last the navigation was spotted and off we got on a beautiful and sunny day! The majority of the pikeys had their ties on which caused puzzlement amongst the others! hecky blue had a simpsons one, which looked like it had come from hecky market - a horror!! - mine was accused of being a blackpool one by scoff! There were other buses parked up there and it was clear this was not a gathering of male models!! - quite the opposite! As soon as we got in, the mayor handed over one of the finest sights you will ever see - a tray of what must have been 50 white sambucas and believe you me, this wasn't the cheap stuff - this was the real deal! - BOOM! As it hit the parts other liqueur cannot reach! Out the back was an awesome beer garden, complete with an outside bar and canal!! The sun beating down and surrounded by some real top old town boys on the swill - does it get any better?! Gotta pity the romantic couples on the barge coming for a peaceful Saturday past the navigation with jimmy mac singing "oh when the town!" And joined with lots of hideous fookers! Time for some more nurofen from Ames. I'd had more tablets than ale I think!! Back in the bar there was loud dance music booming out and the pikey boy band with mr Craig whitehead were in their element! Even the bar staff were decked in old town shirts! What a sight! I was starving but unless the 6 numbers were coming up tonight - a burger at £9.95 was out of my price range! Was gutted to leave but leave we had to as we boarded for the game - late as ever. Our new driver was getting the hang of this!!
Into St. Andrews we strutted and plenty of coaches there from West Yorkshire. The scenes on the concourse were some of the best! People going mental and throwing ale all over! "WHEN HUDDERSFIELD TOWN GO UP AGAIN" "GIVE US AN HHHH" etc etc the young uns serving the food and ale were looking bemused behind the counter. "More money than sense" I heard one of them say! Another great away win and the sound of "JERMAINE BECKFORD, JERMAINE BECKFORD" echoing round the stadium - who would ever have thought town fans would get off on that!? after a good 15 mins we were escorted from the stadium with the local pondlife never far away. Anticipation was building as the yellow bird was demanded from the back of the bus, but in true army stylee he kept us all waiting. We didnt have to wait long SOOOOO HERE WE ARE!!... WE'RE AT IT AGAIN! As the driver feared for his bus with the typical raucous ending! Petes cd was back on at volume 120 much to the delight of me and Glenn! Daz had also decided to have his now traditional 40 winks at the front snoring away and despite bull and others doing their best to wake him, it was not gonna happen
The sleepy village of Alfreton was to be the lucky recipients of the pikey bus on the way home and more tablets from Ames as the flu really kicked in! It was like kiddies who had just seen a sweetshop when the wetherspoons sign was spotted! YES YES YES said Phil H! back on the bus after and shortbread looking the worse for wear. A disastrous attempt to do another football card ended in him going arse over tit down the steps at the front of the bus with scoff lucky not to have joined him. A scary moment but incredibly he still had hold of the football card!!! You couldn't make it up! His daughter made sure the card was complete as shortbread was under doctors orders to rest up! Quite what the driver made of the days goings on was anyone's guess! Amazingly pete had recovered to hand out his shortbread later on and the bus headed back to hq via dewsbury.
A great trip as ever and great to see old friends back on board (donnie Andy Harris pud) and new ones (poz Neil) - don't leave it so long chaps!
WE ARE THE MPC

Great report of another great trip. My back was killing me as the night wore on and I had a very disturbed night's sleep as every time I moved to try and find a comfortable position, I became breathless and was sweating with pain. This morning was murder and I think I've bruised or cracked a rib or two. I guess it could have been much worse and at least the football card survived! Matt was pretty wasted but I did manage to get him home and it was a memorable possibly last trip of this season for him. It all ended up very messy and my daughter has a bit to learn about pikey ways and protocols and it was a steep learning curve. All my experiences haven't taught me much though so I can't preach!!
It was another great day out in great company and another away win. The singing before the game and at half-time in the concourse and throughout the entire match was amazing.
Glad you loved the music Kosi and thank you again for being a top zombie!
Thank God for pain killers - the next few days are going to be tough.

Cracking day out (as ever). Never ceases to amaze how everyone seems to get on....and get home! I think I'll make sure my eldest wears a Burka if she comes with us again, Booby's eyes nearly popped out in Wetherspoons. Congratulations to my nephew John Bob for getting thrown out of the ground for throwing up over a copper; quality work. I had to spend yesterday morning trying to explain to my Dad over and over again why I'd no fucking idea how such an such played or why so and so was taken off. No hangover though, think all the fruit in the punch did me good.
