I know this might not go down well but I'd have him here in a flash, his style might not be the best to watch but this bloke would get us picking up points and would definitely save us from relegation. I'd drive him here myself. Like a poor mans Billy Davies really, decent track record but could start a fight in an empty room. I agree though that he would definitely save us from relegation if given the opportunity, hopefully he wont be and Dean has a more long term plan.

I'd have Davies in over Megson any time. Someone's going to start a Bryan Robson thread at this rate...

I've played Football Manager in the past and not had too bad a record either? If Megson gets it, I'll throw my name in for when he gets sacked.

Megson wouldn't be a bad *short term* appointment. I suspect he'd keep us up but ideally I'd want somebody that would be viewed as a long term appointment. Somebody who can keep us up this year, but also assess the squad & what's needed & be able to take the club forward positively.
There are better options imo.

Apparently sat with Dean at Derby, I hope we get him, the right man for the job!

Gary Megson would keep you up, yes his football is dire to watch but he's a fighter and he would get you fired up every game, not sure that you have a bunch of Megson type of players though as he likes big battlers, he like to play long ball too, not every ones cup of tea but effective.
From a Wednesday point of view, if he went to you he'd keep you up imo, he will demand 110% from his players and doesn't take ANY crap from any player!
I know people don't like his style but it's nt about that now.

Why are people talking like he's already been instated as out manager? People are just speculating. He was at the game so that instantly means he's our next manager? All it means is that people have seen him at the game or heard he was there and put money on him getting the job. Ex managers go to games all the time to keep in touch with the game. Adkins was as short as 1/14 on last week, how has that ended up? People are getting all worked up about it for nothing IMO, calm down and wait for the club to announce who's going to be appointed.

Megson would defo keep you lot up.
He'll get them disciplined and organised. Also, his football isn't even that bad, it's a myth that the style he implements is awful to watch. We played some cracking stuff last season, very direct and very exciting at times with two attacking wingers getting crosses into the box.
One of the best unemployed managers out there, if I was your chairman I'd get him in immediately.

Ok I might hate his style of football however I think he might be one of the few managers who could get us up. The rationale is if we all pay the same way, given resources town will always be a lower quartile division 2 side given the size of our club. If we are to go up we need to be something very different to compete with the 8 or do teams with parachute payments, the Derbys, Leeds, Sheffield clubs who have much bigger resources. Megsons "anti football" would certainly give us an ability points wise to punch above our weight. Yes eventually we might drop on a genius manager, and or be bloody lucky like Blackpool, however generally it is money that wins the league... Look at the top 3 of the division and their spends this season.
