It's a piece of piss, me and young Walsh were in the bar in Scarborough by 3.30 on Thursday, (£2 a pint as well - marvellous). Took it serious on Friday night though, 10 pints - one of them courtesy of LittleJohn, Cheers matey - and a kebab on the way back to the hotel.
Clearly our high carb / high fat diet paid dividends as Tony rocked up 1st at canalside with me following on behind.
Great event which would be an absolute barrel of laughs for a team formed from hideous bastards like your good selves.

This will work. Be a good laugh. Raise plenty of cash. And elevate our reputation even further. We can do it on a relay basis doing time share on a few bikes...or each do the full distance...or a mix of both. We could even have our own caravan as our own support vehicle/bar/bedroom

I'm going to regret this but go on then I'm in. The promise of a mobile bar swung it for me

Lycra is a given Diggers - no worries about a bike - we're gonna make some from spare scrap, or failing that we'll just nick some we'll work on them not giving you time off....will they allow you time off if you tell them Thelma (the lipstick covered monkey - not Angie the wife) has been in an accident and it's touch and go?

It's not as hard as you would think. I would say the first 10 mile is probably the worst, that is the breaking in stage. After that its pretty plain sailing and the camaraderie of your fellow team mates helps you through as well.

The ride this year was pretty steady going by peoples comparisons to last year. We were lucky with the weather, apart from a headwind for a couple of hours on Friday it was ideal conditions. As long as you've practiced a little bit to get used to doing hills and stuff it's fine. The most annoying things for me on the ride were a numb arse and pins and needles in my hands.
Lets get a good team together, it'll be a right laugh, and as Mids says, we'll raise a few quid in the process as well.

Has a blind man ever done a pedal 4 pounds? Probably not I'd guess, so team Millbridge can be the 1st cos, as some of you know, we have got a tandem for Bailey, and I happen to know a blind man who will do it.
I've told him I don't mind doing the ride with him as long as he takes his turn on the front.

My man has had a new hip, infact thinking about it, sharing a tandem with him might be a bad idea.

Mally? I'd rather get on a bike with Evel Knievel. To be fair, we had a spin round the block a couple of Sundays ago (we'd taken drink by the way) and he was pedaling like a man possessed by the devil. 1st time he'd ridden a push bike in 25 years, so we may need to do some training.

So the route's been revealed, who's up for trying to rob some stuff from the Emirates, then making a swift getaway on a push iron?

Team Millbridge is on....
if we can get enough of us to do it ( 6 to 8 of us?)
and
if we can arrange some mass sponsorship ( the back up caravan can be adorned with anything we like...surely some big business will see the benefit of this....we'd be bound to attract attention)
They'd be long days but the pub lunches would be fantastic
