Is that the ex-L***s guy? Couldn't tell from the picture, not how I remember him (yes I know it's been a while). His face has changed almost as much as Kylie's between neighbours and now Kylie's face didn't change half as much as Lucy Robinson's!

I wonder if Town ever looked at Jake Young (he's the Shelley Juniors lad that signed for Bradford and is on loan at rivals Swindon)? Only 22 years old and already knocked in 9 goals in 6 games this season. Looks like a great finisher and may well have a great future.
A few red faces at Bradford I'd imagine as their whole team has only managed 5 goals so far.

Tim Akinola, the young lad we lost to Arsenal a couple of years ago, has signed permanently for Al Bidda, a Qatari second division side. Maybe he'd have been better staying at town?

I have noticed a trend towards not revealing a score for u19 games, often when we have lost. Twitter live updates seem to be a thing of the past. After Saturday's u19 team was announced there has been nothing on the academy twitter apart from the birthday of the keeper.

Yeah I've noticed that - however the results are on the site We've yet to win a game this season outside of friendlies. Which is a worry as our first year intake was pretty small meaning we usually field sides made up of mostly second year scholars The only wins inc friendlies all season have been at Emley and against Ce8tive Academy A couple of 4 nil defeats in there as well from Doncaster and Rotherham www.htafc.com/academy/Under-19-fixtures/

Most of the players in the Town teams are 16 & 17 years of age. Plus we seem to have had a lot of trialists playing in matches. I think we had 6 or 7 trialists in the last few matches

2-2 draw vs Bradford www.htafc.com/news/2023/october/report-town-u19s-2-2-bradford-city/by my reconning the Town squad contained 4 trialists, 2 16 year olds, 2 second year scholars ages 17 and only 6 first year professionals aged 18/19 Bradford likely to have been mostly 18/19 year old first year professionals, who likely played together as a team for 6+ years

We've signed a few lads from City and United into the Academy.......None of them really got anywhere near the first team. We signed Pat Jones from Wrexham......looks a decent prospect. Brahima Diarra never in an Academy before joining Town......Looks a decent prospect. Jaheim Headley never in an Academy before joing Town.....Looks a decent prospect. Brodie Spencer from Cliftonville.......Looks a decent prospect All came on Trial before being signed into the Academy. Certainly no harm in having a look at these lads on Trial.

I take your point but Jones and Spencer joined cos we're a bigger club rather than because they'd been released. I'd wonder what we could see in a lad that Salford couldn't 🤔 rather than someone who wasn't quite at the level required by City or United.

Sierra Leone international Kallum Cesay is having a trial with Huddersfield Town after leaving Tottenham Hotspur in the summer. The 21-year-old has today played for Town's B Team against Rotherham United in the Central League Cup, as he looks to try and convince the Terriers he is worthy of a chance.
Cesay did well in a 5-1 win for the Terriers, impressing in the first half in a midfield role, before departing in the second-half in a game that saw young forward Hazeem Bakre score a hat-trick, a goal for Mustapha Olagunju and one for another trialist in Padrao. Tom Lees scored an own goal for Rotherham.

Hazeem Bakre aged nearly 18 is scoring regularly, Including 3 for the B team this week as reported.
He is on a scholarship until summer 2024, town having picked him up when he left Brighton academy of his own free will
It seems we beat Burnley and Wolves to his signature.
We need to sign a contract with this prospect pronto before the big boys come sniffing.

Released doesn't mean they didn't want him, they could have offered him a new contract and he could of turned it down. As he thought he might have been able to get a better offer elsewhere higher up the leagues. I read somewhere that Burnley and Wolves wanted to sign him but Town pulled off a coup in securing his signature. The reference stated that he left Brighton to be nearer home.

There's been lots of talk about the re-opening of the Academy and the potential loss of players to bigger clubs.....Well, Town could potentially stand to benefit from this.
Let's say we sign a lad at 9. He stays with us for 6 years, then Liverpool come along and take him. We'd get £45,000 in an initial payment from Liverpool.
If he goes on an get's a pro contact and plays just 10 matches for them before leaving, we'd get a further £150K.
If he ends up bring pretty successful and plays 70 matches for them, we'd get £1m (on top of the origional £45K).
That goes all the way up to £1.3m if he plays 100 matches for them.
So whilst it certainly wont be the plan to lose loads of players to bigger and better Academies, losing a few that make it can bring in a bit of extra revenue

Cost wise I seem to remember him quoting around £1m per year to run 10ish years ago!? Be interesting to see what it is now although think some of that is offset by Blue and White foundation. Output- Can you remember the last kid sold to a bigger club(or any club for that matter?)that fits your description!? Be interesting to see what they come up with in terms of a recruitment plan but as I have said many times, this is going to have to be a vast improvement on last time and that's before you even start to discuss all the other aspects, coaching etc!
