Is Hudlin injured? He doesn't seem to have played many out on loan at relegation-threatened Burton?

Hudlin's biggest mistake was coming off the bench and scoring against 'Boro, because that created an expectation that didn't previously exist.

One thing I have wondered with clubs with limited budgets is why bother wasting (albeit small) amounts of money on several players not good enough? Why not just pool the money to afford someone better - it's not like the squad was so small we would be unable to field 11 players.

One word: injuries I'd rather play a kid who we already have for free than squander money on somebody who won't make the grade. Either way they probably weren't ready. Might as well not waste money on somebody to not be ready.

Might as well not waste money on somebody to not be ready. Genuine question - who have you thought that Town have wasted money on to just be a benchwarmer? I know Simpson and Hudlin are examples that can be used, but both were signed for their (albeit non-existent) potential, so not just injury fillers. And for every Simpson or Hudlin, there is a Thomas, Koroma and even Karlan Grant.

Might as well not waste money on somebody to not be ready. Also if we'd have done this this season, we would be down already. If we had just paid for a starting 11, then with the injuries that we've had half the under 16s would have had a cap by now!

Hopefully there should be some announcements and information regarding the re-opening of the Academy soon.
player trials are currently taking place across all age groups and it all needs to be done and dusted, with over 130 kids signed by early August.

Down to what age group. I've not heard anything about any trials.

I'm not a scout Thanks, I thought that was the case. A few of my lad's team mates play pre-academy for the likes of Man Utd and Sheff Utd at the moment.

Kieran Phillips gone on loan to Sacramento Republic 🤨. If he finally keeps fit, he'll have a field day at that level.

Might have a role if we go down
