In the Town u21s 2-0 win at Emley last night there was a trialist at vingback. Jordan Hendrie (son of John), a Bolton Wanderers product. Surely might be a useful player if he's close to as talented as his dad? . . . and ve know how good ze Germans are.

Surely might be a useful player if he's close to as talented as his dad? He's a bit of stocky lad like his Dad but was very athletic. Played right wing back first half and left wing back second half and he looked decent in both roles. Along with Tronstad he was probably our best/busiest player.

at a glance it looks like only two other players from 22 squad are from champtionship clubs, rest from premier. that is a compliment to the lad and our academy

Can we play these guys as our first team? They certainly have more balls and passion

A young U21 side beat a similarly youthful Bristol City 4:1 this afternoon at Canalside. The team largely comprised of last season's triumphant U18 side, excluding Jake Charles, with Jake Carroll I think, being the only overage player on show. Philip Billing ran the show in midfield, including scoring two headed goals, the first of which was top draw. Brian Horton was scouting and cannot help but have been impressed by the best player on the field.
Ben Atkinson finished off when the keeper could only parry a shot from I'm not sure whom. It rained for most of the second half and it was hard to see through the posse of umbrellas. Ben Holmes tapped in a great cross from Jacob Hanson who in turn had been played in by Ronan Coughlan following a Cruyff turn.
Bristol City were no pushovers, but as they tired Town just took over and they could have scored more but for a couple of smart saves by their keeper.
A very entertaining game. The U21 team seem to be carrying on from the way they finished last season. There are some very promising young players in the team. If anyone wants to know what Ross Wilson does, then I suggest you get down to watch the U21s and U18s to see some of the excellent young talent that has been recruited. Billing looks to me like the real deal. If we can keep hold of him!

I see that Ronan Coughlan only came on as a late sub, but he seems to have got off to a flying start in his career at Town, and is getting fast-tracked up the ranks. What's your impression of him betsvigi?

Quick feet, well balanced, good footballing brain and knows how to finish. Early days but what's not to like!

I see the young U16 who made the England squad not only made the squad but seemed to have played very well in the starting XI, good effort that amongst all the premiership club lads

What does anyone know of this Jacob Hanson? From what I can tell he seems to have just been promoted to u18 this season, so must only be sixteen years old, yet it sounds like he's already in the u21 team and making a good impression on the videos.

Usually a right back. Very strong and quick, carries the ball well and bombs up and down the flank. Lot's of potential, but a long way to go.

And another in a goalie from Limerick. They might come good, but can we please look elsewhere now?

Don't really care where we scout if they're good enough - we have two lads on the books from Warrington (Smith and Robinson) who are similar ages. Jesse Lingard is also a similar age and from Warrington. You can get more than one good player from the same Town Good to see Town scouting not just the best local talent bit also lads from Ireland, Scotland, Norway and Denmark. Can only be of benefit spreading the net wider

Under 18's lost 5-0 today against Charlton today. Not a good day all round.
