Lets hope he's good enough to challenge for a first team spot and not loaned out to some non league club. The left back is leaving for a smaller club....🤔 but one with more league titles

You do realise that in youth football it not the results of matches that matter, it's the development of the future player that matters.
A number of the Academy players are going out and playing mens football on loan or on work experience. That's where results matter

It’s all about finding one maybe two per age group We play 17 year olds - most who are completely raw and weren’t even with a pro academy until last summer - against 18 year olds. That’s before you factor in the life change for a 16 year old moving from London to Huddersfield... it takes time We then also don’t place an emphasis on winning but rather certain games are used to put into practice different aspects of our style eg fight zones If you look at the league we are miles behind - this table will really excite those wanting to put everything down at the club us.soccerway.com/national/england/youth-alliance/20182019/regular-season/r49401/However when we take on other U17 sides we’re more than competitive and have beaten Manchester United, Burnley and Leicester U17s at that level

At this point I don't think it's possible to say whether they're doing a good job or not. You'll have to wait another couple of years to determine that and see if any make the break through I don't watch the academy but I really hope they're not trying to play the same way as the first team

So what happens when a new manager comes in with a different philosophy?
Do these youngsters suddenly have to forget everything they've been doing and now learn a new way?

We will only bring in a manager with the same or a very similar footballing philosophy as Wagner.
The manager has gone but our identity remains.

I don't understand why people are complaining about the Academy.
In the last 12 months we've signed 2 lads from Man United, 1 England youth international from Man City & 1 England Youth international from Spurs.
It's produced an England Youth International Goalkeeper, who at the Age of just 19 has just made his professional debut, and another current England youth international.
There's one lad out on loan at a League 1 team who is one of their main performers and others that are out on loan and performing well at various levels.
And we've a 16 year old striker who is banging in the goals for fun in the under 17's and 19's
To me the above indicated that the Academy is moving in the right direction.

Well I hope the new managers philosophy is slightly different with regards to getting bodies in the box
