Anyone remember jack sandeford at white lee loved to throw a mallet I remember seeing wooden board rubbers being thrown regularly. Usually without warning. I also saw a lad knocked off his feet when the teacher clouted him round the side of the head with a massive hardback Oxford dictionary.

I was once struck by a flying board rubber....they were not rubber they were wood! Mr Firth, Linthwaite Junior circa 1970. A certain Nick "Rawky" Rawcliffe was in my class too!
