Every man & his dog would add themselves onto the end of the tunnel too, even if they had not had the bottle to play. We played 21's with a huge heavy old netball too and then took turns crucifying the loser with it. Those vicious playground games really drilled the importance of concentration into you.

Skill....as in "you going tut town match? Skill....
Also watching Fa cup final you went out and re-enacted it..complete with commentary.
I only say this cos I still couldn't tell you who scored for Wigan last year as it was on at a daft time.
Also,as said earlier wasn't 21's a sort if 3 and in where you couldn't let the ball bounce?

English was a footie game where just headers and volleys were allowed to score. Yup. And if you accidentally scored when it wasn't a header or volley, or if you put the ball wide, you'd gain a letter....E....N....G.....L....etc. When you got to H, then it was your turn to go in nets.

"Scramble"
Someone would shout scramble, and launch marbles down the playground for other kids to 'scramble' to get.

The match started with both teams around the centre circle and the ball in the middle...

Got, Got, Got, Not Got.......who remembers small crowds in the playground gathered around playing swapsies with 1970's Pannini Football Cards ?
Laughing at how momentous Ian Wallace of Coventry City's Ginger Afro was probably in their Brown Away Kit too.

We would climb hills, trees, buildings, anything just for the hell of it. I've just remembered a great one too. Grass sliding on cardboard "slick" boxes.

And these kids think Parkour is where it's at...
In my day anyone below the age of 12 with a Parka used it for playing aeroplanes...
Grass sliding was fantastic, especially when you were on hills with barbed wire fencing either side...
