There's been talk on here in recent days mentioning HD One. Is this still going ahead? If so what are the timescales?

I still don't think it will happen to be honest, it does however seem like they have updated the website recently.

The HD1 project was put on hold by Kirklees council until Ken Davey handed back the 40% shares he owed to the club and his company KDSL has a massive interest in the project which will be build outside and up the Kilner bank as that of a ski slope. To hear more on this try putting HD1 project into google .

Can we fill in the corners and have two ultra groups in each corner who surround the stadium in atmosphere with controlled pyrotechnics and all dressed in black with big flags. (and breath)

There is a town centre less then a mile away with empty shops and empty council buildings which is dying on it's knees.

I highly doubt HD1 will ever happen. The plans were created mid "00s" and submitted 2008 just coincidentally when the financial crisis hit and liquidity became a major issue with developers. Funders are looking for shorter term models on more favourable terms and so things really have to stack up to progress. Its why across the UK there are loads of projects abandoned even at more advanced stages.
This coupled with the fact that out of town retail is dying and ironically the retailers with the super huge stores are now the ones in trouble as they are too big for their needs but hard to flog on as too big for many potential purchasers. Even Tescos are scaling back their plans as they were aiming too big.
The location is too far out of the town centre with nothing around apart from it to pull people there and therefore I cant imagine many investors getting too excited by it. An outdoor ski slope just isnt appealing to anyone and even the successful indoor ones struggle sometimes so an outdoor one on the Kilner Bank just wont cut it.
Davy did miss a trick with this years ago and the wranglings with the shares. Frankly they would be better served using the land for good quality low cost office space and plenty of car parking as this sector has remained buoyant.

How will this create the 700-1000 jobs mentioned?
Do we need a second casino, I mean Casino Red showed there wasn't demand for a second casino in Huddersfield. So for the Leeds Rd casino to succeed it will need to "replace" the Grovesnor Casino at Folly Hall. Likewise the Bingo Hall. It seems they are simply moving jobs from Folly Hall to Leeds Rd!
Also a bowling alley, how will that create jobs? It will surely mean the current bowling alley on Leeds Rd will go belly up, so the jobs the new bowling alley creates need to netted against the job losses it creates
Two nightclubs, where does that leave Tokyo, Camel Club etc
It's moving jobs from one part of Town to another, not creating new jobs. As others have said I would rather Kirklees spent the money trying to reinvigorate the dieing Town centre (reduce business rates and parking fees), give more new business grants or create a business park so we can create real new jobs and not move them from one part of Town to another and dress it up as creating 1000 jobs!
HD One is a utter waste of time IMO

Agree with the comments until the bit about the office and car parking. That'd struggle financially at any scale on its own and also be questionably policy compliant at best.
