For Barnsley to go above us they'd need to win three from four, or win two and draw two, and that's assuming we lose all four.
I'd rather Barnsley have the points personally. Keeps Charlton below us. The more teams that have to pick up loads of points to stay up, the less likely it is to happen.

Don't worry. We are safe according to some of the folk on here. There's no need to turn up to our remaining games.

Think a Barnsley win was the better result, keeps Charlton down there!

If we lose our last four to go down we will deserve to and robins should be sacked immediately. That would be 3 pts from 39!!!! Cant see it happening myself but time for the players to show the fight we need to win on fri and put it all to bed. Wont be easy but if we cut out the shit mistakes for once i can see us picking up a point and i think that will be enough.

After Gary Johnson's choice words about Holmes I think I'd be giving him a starting berth v Yeovil

Anything but a Charlton win was a good result tonight.
I think it will be Blackpool who drop

Think it will be us tbh, are people blind? The points on the board wont be enough and we are playing shite, making countless mistakes , tactics are shit and morale is rock bottom along with any confidence we had.2001 all over again.

It's ridiculous that we are anywhere near relegation to be honest. What a turn around!!

It's no good looking at others results, are fete is solely in our own hands. If we don't get another point until the end of the season which is perfectly pheasible and go down we will deserve it and Mark Robins will deserve the sack. Personally think it will be close but we will do it.
If however we went down Robins and the players 'efforts' would have to rank alongside the pathetic efforts of the Malcolm Mcdonadl era, although I'm sure the members of his fan club on here will dress it up as some kind of success !!!

fete is solely in our own hands. Too early to be organising public functions, typically held outdoors and organized to raise funds for a charity, including entertainment and the sale of goods and refreshments.

I said on here months ago we could be in trouble and was scoffed at.. Typical Town. Thing is win this Friday and it'll all be forgotten and the players think they've done a decent job this year. WRONG!!

Will there be an open top bus parade when it's confirmed?
We could have a mass gathering outside the town hall again and see If we can get Jordan Rhodes to come back and stand there awkwardly whilst the fans ask him if he is going to stay? Or alternatively get Ward to stand there awkwardly whilst the fans ask if he is going to leave?

46 games, not 4..
if you don't get enough over 46 gamnes you are exactly where you deserve to be..
we had a reasonable points total with 12 to go..club looked at it as job done..manager talked a bright future, club talked a bright future and about preparing for the next game, then clearly didn't..
blackpool and Donny should have recouped at least 2 points as a bare minimum, Bolton, a point the same, so we aimed very low and even missed that target..Even considering the worst scenario over the last shitload of games 3 points extra could never have been seen beforehand as being billy big time or lacking respect for our opponents.. The Reading and Charlton points were, in the context of our miserable form, good away points but we couldn't take anything from them into the next game. In truth one fighting performance from 4 might well be enough to gain safety but already too many are looking to Yeovil or Leicester if they have won the league by then, I hate to say it but I truly believe Robins shares that view and that Brighton will come on Friday and find us trying to stay in the game rather than trying to win it and we will lose to the usual goal(s) in the first half followed by another one or two in the second and any injection of enthusiasm to win it will be too little far too late.
Can we win on Friday, course we can, can we win a game now by keeping it tight and trying to sneak one whilst they miss a shitload of opportunities, probably not. One game shit or bust..

Good win last night puts us back in with a fighting chance. Recently we've taken 7/9 points from promotion chasing Reading, Forest and Brighton. We've also picked up two good away wins against two sides around us in Yeovil and Charlton. We've conceeded 6 in our last 7 games which should have only been 5th but we have an habit of conceeding at the end of an half. Leicester were a class above in beating us 3-0 but it was disapointing to lose 1-0 to Burnley as we matched them and had the best chances. Lost 1-0 to Bournemouth in the 94th minute and if you look at their other fixtures recently they have been thrashing teams so our result doesn't look too bad. We play home to Leeds on saturday who have little to play for and who we usually beat (gutted to lose there earlier this season). Then we have Derby away on monday who might have one eye on the play offs then. A week on saturday away at Boro who will hopefully have one eye on the beach. Then finish home to QPR who Dodgy Harry i'm sure will have a weakened team out to avoid injuries/suspensions/tiredness in a meaningless game for them with play offs around the corner. audioboo.fm/boos/2075274-barnsleyfc-chief-exec-ben-mansford-speaks-ahead-of-charltonOur chief executive barely in his 30s speaks really well. I don't always agree with him and some things he could do to improve things but for a first season he's done well. Somewhere in the link he speaks about loans. Brek Shea came on his high horse as a USA international playing in the premiership. Frimpong the same with thinking he's made it because he's played for Arsenal and a couple of champions league fixtures. Both have been failures. Big time charlies some might say. The reason Hunt hardly plays? Because Ryan McLaughlin is a star in the making from Liverpool on loan. Just the kind of loan teams should go for. Someone who's achieved naff all but wants to and doesn't think he's someone he's not. Best right back i've seen play for us since Kieran Trippier who will be taking his rightful place in the premiership next season with Burnley and will hopefully play for England one day. Hunt has done alright when called upon. Just he's got harder competition for that slot than he'd have had if Scott Wiseman was still here. McLaughlin i'd love to see a Liverpool regular one day because he's the ability. He will be a regular Northern Ireland international but with Liverpool looking good for the title and a return to the champions league i'm doubting how much of a chance he'd get.

If Town can stop being shit and raise it up a level/gear we can almost enjoy our last game or two...
Can't see us doing that though unfortunately!

I loved the after-match comment from Charlton boss Igor Igorevic (or whatever his name is) who basically said that they didn't need to win that game, but Barnsley did. Now THERE'S an arrogant prat for you - he believes that they have enough games left to save themselves easily, yet they lose at home to the team bottom of the table which brings them up to within two points. Can't see it happening myself, but I hope this lot go down, for this reason and also the way they dumped Powell when he would definitely have saved them.

I'm not confident. We're second bottom in the form tables, unless we turn something around, it's going to be very close again.
Why do we start a season well then fade to rubbish after Feb/March? For me this year, it's been only having 1 first team striker and Vaughan.
