Not heard it anywhere else though? That would be a coup and I suspect we'd only get him over the competition if he thought he'd quickly be getting regular game time.

Sean st Ledger is linked in the irish press.Better interview in irish daily mail but cant find it online.
Ledger fears for future with club and country Garry Doyle Published 24/07/2014|02:30
1 Comments Share Sean St Ledger says he is 'a little in the dark' about his Ireland future. Photo: Brian Lawless / SPORTSFILE Sean St Ledger says he is 'a little in the dark' about his Ireland future. Photo: Brian Lawless / SPORTSFILE Sean St Ledger has openly admitted he fears for his international and club future after a summer spent waiting on the phone to ring.
SHARE GO TO While Huddersfield Town are interested in the Republic of Ireland international, it remains to be seen whether Martin O'Neill is. Since taking charge, O'Neill has yet to select the defender for any of his seven internationals.
"I would love to play for Ireland again and still believe I can," said St Ledger, "but I must admit I am still a little in the dark. I haven't spoken to the manager over the summer. He's the manager and he makes these decisions and that's something I have to get on with. That said, I'm not playing enough football at the moment to warrant a place in the squad so I'm not complaining."
When he will be playing football again remains a moot point. For now, he is in limbo, waiting for an offer to come.
"It's not an ideal scenario as clubs are back in pre-season around now and there are a lot of players still looking. I'm doing my own stuff at home, trying to stay fit but I'm not the only one in this situation. There are loads of players out there in the same boat," said the defender.
"Financial fair play has come in and it's killing players. It's a good rule in a sense that it will keep football afloat but it doesn't help players out too much.
"Clubs are less likely to go for older players now. It is different if you're a Luis Suarez and you're wanted and the money is out there and people will pay it, but in the lower leagues it's really difficult."
Sean St Ledger was speaking at the FAI's Festival of Football in Westmeath. He is visiting over 20 clubs around the county this week with Irish legends Ronnie Whelan, John Aldridge and Paul McGrath, along with FAI representatives. Derby spend a small fortune on George Thorne and he gets injured in pre season ruling him out of the whole season. Gutting for the player but Derby's board must be feeling a bit sick

Decent player was Delfouneso a few years ago but he's never really kicked on.

Not sure he was ever decent tbh. Strong and quick for his age meaning he dominated youth levels. Not a very good player.
Glad the rumour has come from supernovak, chalk that off as 0% chance of any truth.

St Leger has the ability but he hasn't played much football recently and may be a bit of a risk.
As he says in the interview though, quite a few players will be out of contract and may fall into out price range if no one picks them up.

As he says in the interview though, quite a few players will be out of contract and may fall into out price range if no one picks them up. This happened last summer. Lots of players refused offers earlier in the summer as their agents told them to hold out for better deals. Little did they know that the market was completely drying up and there wasn't the money out there as in previous years. Presumably due to FFP being on the horizon. These players ended up accepting offers far worse than those initially offered at the start of the summer There will be even less money out there this time being offered by 'bottom half' championship teams and the divisions below. There are only so many players that can get the good deals on offer in the Prem and from those clubs receiving parachute payments. It leaves plenty that need to realise the good times have come and gone

Delfouneso was one of those who changed their name to 'Trialist' last week at Blackpool - scored twice

" Financial fair play has come in and it's killing players. It's a good rule in a sense that it will keep football afloat but it doesn't help players out too much." And folk said that the sanctions were not harsh enough!!! But it backs up what I said yesterday - there may be some cheap pickings in the next few weeks with desperate players without clubs.

Well not really. given the lad is 23 we wouldnt be signing him for youth level would we? has he ever been good at first team level? Skarz was good at youth level but I still wouldnt class him as a decent first teamer.

He may be on trial, so could get a run out tomorrow or Saturday. He is quick, fairly good in the air, think he is over 6ft. Represented England at most youth levels.
Problem is... He is also lazy, thought he had made it too young and will probably be looking for a good wedge of wage.

Ultimately he will get what someone thinks he's worth, and not necessarily what he's looking for ... Maybe dropping down a wage tier will provide incentive to reassess his career and kick on again in search of the big bucks...in which case everyone would be a winner

Isn't that exactly what I originally wrote? 3Pipe: "Decent player was Delfouneso a few years ago but he's never really kicked on." You went on to contradict yourself saying he was never decent yet you amazingly go on to add that "he dominated youth levels". So back to what I originally said, here's a bit from Wiki:

He is a prospect as briggs was, but usually the baggage is too much. If he was any good he would have been snapped up by now is my view. If stead and pato leave we could do worse than give this guy a year from what I have seen. But he would be back up.

All i said was i dont think he was ever decent at pro level, which you seemingly agree with, so not sure why you are being a condescending dickhead.

First sign you've lost an argument is resorting to personal insults.
Next time you attempt to pick holes in what I write make sure you don't contradict yourself in your very first sentence. Schoolboy error.
