What's your opinion of him? I always remember him being decent but that was a few yrs ago, any better than Peter clarke nowadays? Never liked him because he was a complete twit on that Big Ron Manager documentary when he took over at Posh. He had a shocking attitude. Might have grown up now but he's not exactly the best centre half out there

Wouldn't read much into that - it's just going off what Alan Nixon has tweeted in us being interested in a foreign player

Just out of curiosity, how do you announce a 'completely anonymous' player?? Who writes this shit? "Ladies and gentleman of the press. We are delighted to announce our new signing.................... What do you think?"

Superlopez
What is wrong with your head man! You talk utter shite 99.9% of the time claiming nothing new to what has been put out their by rumours and the like. What I can't get is you feel the need to come on here and claim how you are right every time. Really do you think anyone really gives a toss?

I think we knew way before that thread that we may be in for peltier.. a midfielder and a foreigner, well we got both with majewski so that covers that.. 2 for the price of 3?
mystic meg he isn't.. given the talk of how much scouting abroad we have been doing for some time the foreigner was a safeish bet...
if superlopez is laughing at us all now he must be quite a weird guy..

According to Nixon we are still after the foreigner but he has no clue who he is. Not Majewski though apparently. Also says we are still waiting on a decision on Keane but we are not the only ones wanting him.

Huddersfield Town interested in bringing back Lee Peltier from Leeds United Jun 16, 2014 16:00 By Doug Thomson Huddersfield examiner. Your claim of signing a midfielder, when as far back as May Robins had already stated this fact. Also your double dutch striker/ attacking midfielder.. codswallop story that has not happened. Stop dreaming lad, and find a new hobby to fill your empty brain cell. It's like you want me to make something up that isn't happening. I can only deal in facts and things that actually happen. Peltier was signing and he did. One of the scouts told me the positions we are interested in and said we were close to a deal on a cm.... He also told me we were closing in on a lad from Europe, where value is better. In a previous conversation he told me we had been looking heavily in holland and had scouted a few players on a number of occasions. 2+2 maybe equals 4. I don't pass on any names he gives unless they are done deals or we may get gazumped, and I won't break his confidence. Everyone knows we are in for Keane, but we also have dibs on a Chelsea and Newcastle CB if that doesn't come off, when squads are announced. If you don't want the info... just block me. I won't be offended. However repeated responses and name calling for what are actually facts just blocks the board up. Where people are actually looking at this thread for transfer RUMOURS...... I give slightly better than that in facts.

Matt Lowton rumoured to be going to Middlesbrough on loan and they are hoping to have three Chelsea loanees tied up this weekend too. Sounds like they are really going for it this year.

boro are going to break ffp and take the transfer embargo in January, the local newspaper had the story a few weeks ago. Seems Mr Gibson has mates on the inside who have already 'leaked' what the first fines will be and it appears he believes it to be a good move for boro..
first concrete signs that ffp isn't going to get the desired result?

Probably right mate. For all its good intentions, if the punitive system is hardly severe, then it'll just be a waste of time.

Boro's manager is Mouinho's former assistant at Real - they are close
Chelsea sent about half a dozen players to Vitesse alone last year so can see this happening. Plus some to Boro
All depends how much Boro are contributing in wages whether they breach FFP - maybe well be a old mates act and will Chelsea mind if their kids are playing regularly, being looked after and increasing their resellable value

The only way FFP or indeed any form of sanction will work in football will be to penalise points. Fines are irrelevant to people with deep pockets. Goodness only knows how the impotent authorities that persist in football can justify to themselves that they're taking action when fines are paid and 'crimes' continue. Suarez is a case in point. He's probably increased his salary and certainly improved his career in one bite!
Forget the transfer embargo. Deduct 10 points, then 20, then whatever it takes to get these people to obey the rules. Equally I would allow clubs a certain number of disciplinary breaches(red/ yellow cards and failure to control players) but then deduct say 0.2 points per yellow above the average and 0.5 per red. Players who fail to maintain control would be quickly told to sort themselves out or be moved on.

Instead of penalising those who are not complying, wouldn't it be easier to reward those who do comply
Say for example that we demonstrate this season that we are well inside the FFP limits, our reward should be we start next season on +5 points. As does anyone else in the same boat. That way, the league doesn't run the risk of being taken to court for deducting points from non compliant clubs

The only way to create rules if for a two thirds of the clubs to agree. They won't agree to deduct points from themselves at the moment. The FL doesn't have powers in itself.
