If Clayton goes then town will have to pull a mega signing out of the bag to stop the avalanche of shit that will fall their way from the supporters.

Clubs don't always spend on mega signings when there is an avalanche of shit... See Leeds United

4-5m for Clayton!?! Some of you will be incredibly disappointed if he goes. 1.5m absolute max I think... He said 'if he had 2 years left'Here's what Syran said again. I think £3-5m is about right if he had 2 years left on his contract considering how we played hard ball with Rhodes. Players of high value to the team who are under contract won't go for peanuts with DH in charge.

Getting Clayon to sign a new 3 or 4 year contract would be the best bit of business we do all summer. Worth a lot more than £2mill anyway

Danny Ward is now wanted by Ipswich and Wolves. Would you let him go, and if so, for how much? He certainly devides opinion. He is only 23 and has played well this season, when he has played, but out of contract, so we might have no choice but to let him go, which would be scandalous!

Town are looking into 33 year old Coventry goalkeeper, Joe Murphy. Possible replacement for Bennett? He is a first team player for the Sky Blues and is out of contract, so if Robins has tapped him up, he could well be on his way to the John Smith's. Thoughts? He might want more game time, but at 33, he may be content with earning slightly more money and warming the bench instead of Bennett. He would be a great gk to fall back on, should Smithies get injured!

I thought his contract had ended, and if that's correct it means we would have to let him go and for bugger all. Unless I'm mistaken of course?

He has a 1 year extension option, but no agreement has been reached yet, so we might have to let him go for nothing. That's a shame because he's a good player and worth keeping and if we were to sell him, we might have been able to squeeze a million out of someone like Wolves...

I'd be surprised if Murphy was prepared to come to Town as back-up goalie as he's still got several years ahead of him and has been a regular starter for a long time. Decent goalie, very similar in style and build to Ian Bennett.

Cant be arsed to read all the previous comments(dont know if this guy has been linked with us) TROY DEENEY - that was the strong whisper down at canalside during the PPG kids tournament That makes absolutely no sense. The guy is class at this level and is 3rd highest scorer, not far behind McCormack or Rhodes. Why would he go to a team that finished a few places below the one he's currently at, and a team where his competition would be Vaughan and Wells? This isn't even taking into consideration the money involved... Obviously it'd be awesome if we did get him but there's precisely 0.00001% chance we will.

The only thing I can think that makes the Deeney rumour minutely realistic is he is pally with Hogg and the Ross Wilson link

Burnley is his likely destination.
