I reckon we should scrap the flag idea and buy 10000 party poppers!

Not sure if its been mentioned, but can you give a rough overview of what can be achieved with the £500 target? What flags, how many, sizes? What about if the target isn't met/surpassed? Yeah mate im getting quotes back at the moment. Its looking like £500 would be enough for one really big flag or 2 small ones.. Had some better quotes from a firm via terrierlukeI reckon we will be able to do a 25ft by 5 ft banner then 3 10 x 15ft flags with the current donations. Either to be draped on chairs or attached to 2 stick flag poles to be waved about pre game etc.. All dependant on regulations..

That is good news. No reason for us not to have the same consideration.

John Robinson is a giants fan ?
Actually, it shows it isn't H&S stifling the flags and banners effort..it's Town. If the Giants have got approval obviously Town have done bugger all about it ...unless..it's been released on the website or twitter and I've missed it ? One for the ATT meeting I guess

Whats the difference I'm missing? Giants flags also require appropriate fire certification and steward inspection for suitability etc, and refers to the generic "Stadium regulations" (which is what the Hudds Town flag policy thing reflects).

Been given a final quote which, from experience, is an absolute belter. Less than a grand for three 10ft x 15ft flags and the 5ft x 25ft banner design. I guess it's now over to Bolts and DATM to decide on designs and get 'em done. Perhaps the few quid extra we (might) have can be donated to YAA?

Whilst I nice gesture, I'd say it would be good to just keep the money in the account that people can then decide to top up towards another banner/flag. There's no reason why it had to end with these, could literally kit the stadium out in them. Say a quarterly push for funds - new idea - new signing, etc. I'd definitely aim to emulate the Stretford End flags model, they seem to get it all right logistically.

Yep think this should definitely the approach- I don't think we'll be closing the fundraiser once these are bought. Hopefully, if this is a success, we'll be able to push on and raise money for other flags, or anything else we can think to contribute towards improving the atmosphere. No need to limit it to 3/4, let's get the stadium decorated to feel more like Huddersfield Town's home. Sounds like a cracking quote in terms of price though- brilliant stuff.

Agree with this, alternatively use whatever money is left to buy as many smaller flags as possible and just get people to them around. The more the better right?

As you say, there's no reason why it should stop at four flags. From a personal point of view though, I don't think they'll quite work in either of the side stands - I just think it's something that looks great behind the goal.

Over a grand raised since Wednesday night (I think). Really really class effort by all town fans, and to say our original target was 500 quid for the start of the season. Looking like this stand will be the best dressed stand in Yorkshire!

How's a few flags going to improve the quality of the atmosphere . We've only got 3 songs . And be honest do you really think when we're losing people will sing along .

It's a genuine question . Do you think a flag will improve the quality of the atmosphere ? Am not having a go at anyone so don't get out of your prams .

Best we totally ignore the negative jibes, wearisome as they are...don't bite..they'll beggar off...and in a while will want to be joining us...
Agree about keeping the fund going, but might add is that the best funding site going ? A load of smaller flags (that can be waved during the games) might be good to hand out to some of the younger ones who come in...we could have our own junior loyals section..and if we carry on like this we can have our own team one day too...(joke)...

Maybe you should have got a load of vuvuzelas instead of flags that's going to improve the quality of the atmosphere . It did in the world cup in affrica . And maybe a few wins would work best . Anyway good luck hope it goes well .

I think it would be better to have 1 massive crowd surfing banner than 3 smaller one that are going to be draped over some seats and forgotten about and that will do nothing to improve the atmosphere. So why not wait a bit longer and see how much more we can raise in the next few weeks. The history banner is never going to be out of date so that's the best for me. What happens if we sell out the FML and all the smaller flags have to be moved? Great effort so far though! I have a new idea that I've never seen done!!!! At the first night match when it's dark how about using our mobile phones flash light app (has everyone got one these days) to shine towards the pitch when the teams come on. Could look spectacular. Just an idea
