What a great day at York I had a fortnight ago.. Moaner would have been jel it was all for free... Two horses which won then particularly caught my eye... They are running this weekend but I don't think at York.. Bronze Angel and Faraaj. Ill have a look at York on Saturday ... Ps my old fav royal Alcor runs at 9pm at donny tonight... 20-1 is too big a price in this motley company .. It's already done me a favour on here when winning at 14s ... Not sure the stable are running it to win but maybe 50p ew tonight... It will definitely win more races Not tomorrow old bean, County Stand suited & booted but don't tell barnsleyspaz he won't believe you seeing i'm unemployable & can't afford it.

In the words of Phil Collins, no jacket required in the county due to whether forecast (I had an email from them). Still, positively chilly to where I'm sat right now on south Costa blanca

Although the first 6 races out of 7 I was £40 down overall. Racing wasn't my game I even said to my mates 'it's a mugs game this.' Then the final race the 'Junior race' young horses came along. I put £5 on Kibaar to win, it came through the pack to claim a win on photo finish! Priced at 8/1 that was £45 back, up for the day feeling great. A few shandys were drunk in York and HUD afterwards in celebration! Ps the fillys were smoking hot in the county stand. Oh aye

All me mates were on kibraar, I was on the Johnston horse at 12-1.. Yours beat mine in a photo... I'd already paid for expenses with Faraaj so it was no bother.... It's all about the day out at York.. Definitely recommended for non racing folk if the sun is shining

If I was you Mr X I'd follow your own tips... York on a Saturday isn't Southwell on a wet Tuesday.. It's ultra competitive ...though as i said a couple of weeks ago the top northern trainers, Fahey, Johnston and O Meara aren't slowing down ! Zalty is interesting though... The trainer David Marnane from Ireland is top drawer

Making my racing debut on Saturday at York at the age of 27 and whilst I'm capable of understanding form guides, I have an uncanny nack of picking out donkeys... Can anyone offer any decent tips? Dare I say don't est yello snow / cue the 22 page back stabbing posts

The big race is at Haydock. The favourite is Sole Power who has been sluicing up over 5 furlongs. But this is 6 and he has never won over 6 . So the value alternatives for me are music master ( 8-1) and baccarat (14-1)

I've already chosen two... Gordon Lord Byron is a solid horse I expect to go well..
Have a look at the O Meara horses at longer prices today. Penitent did me a 33-1 favour at Haydock recently.. Is back there today and although ground might be on the fast side 16-1 is generous. Chancery has been losing but is down in the weights and trip change.. 14-1..... Louis the pious won a big handicap at ascot in the summer.. Only 5 lb up therefore 33-1 is too big in the 1.55
Michael Appleby continues to do me big favours , nice winners at kempton and haydock in last two days. So don't rule out Lulu the Zulu in the 4.40 at ascot (14-1)
Obviously these are speculative punts but if one comes in you can afford to lose a few

Ted, you should post 'your tips' more often as the two I've backed that you've given have waltzed home and landed me some decent profits.
I'm not a horse racing man, just back on the football, but if your confident, give us the tip. If it doesn't win, it doesn't win, don't think anyone will question your knowledge of the horses.

Yeah but then you set yourself up to fail and get lots of abuse. For me it's all about the price... Obviously id be a fool to say any of the above were going to win.. But if you bang in a few you are in clover. I had a Yankee bet the other week., three longer prices including a 16-1 all won , my fourth horse was 5-4 favourite and got beat.. Winnings would have been in the thousands.. ( For a tenner stake) But that's racing. Nothing is certain when you are dealing with animals with four legs and a mind .

Its the case with football betting too, the 'cert' will always let you down.

Get on Poland to batter Gibraltar. 5/6/7-0

We've been here with Gibralter before though, they had a draw with Slovakia when everyone was expecting Slovakia to run in a hat full, recently they have beaten Malta as well and also a draw in Estonia. Although I don't expect Gibraltar to score or win, Poland are in general no great shakes. The last game Poland had like this away was in San Marino where they conceded in a 5-1 win.

Although I am weary of Penitent with the rain coming down I think Ocean Tempest in the 240 should prove too strong for this lot.

Get on Poland to batter Gibraltar. 5/6/7-0 Got to laugh...7-0 was 50/1...not a peep. Give a loser and you get more mail than an over-exposed boyband.
