Hawksby and Jacobs said they would be discussing why Rhodes hasn't yet been signed by a Premier League Club later this afternoon on Talksport.
I can't help but think we've played our part in this. I think it's fair to say we got a good deal at £8 million and while I'm sure lots of Clubs enquired and probably made offers, it was only Blackburn that were willing to pay the price Town valued him at.
But having paid such a substantial amount of money for his transfer and then his weekly wages, (some say £40k a week others say more) I think Blackburn will be looking for a decent return on their investment. Don't forget Town's 20 % cut on any fee over £8 million and they aren't going to see much of a return at all. Not from a sale of £11 million which is the rumour. I can't see Blackburn doing business at that and I can't see Premier League sides taking a gamble for more than this on an untried first tier player.
Maybe what Rhodes should have done was stick at Town a further season or at least until January. He could have proven that he was capable of scoring goals at this level for Town and then got his breakaway move. I'd say more Clubs would have been willing to pay £8 million knowing he could do the business in the Championship and I bet they'd be higher placed then Blackburn Rovers.
I do hope Jordan Rhodes gets a move to the Premier League, I think he will do well and I think he deserves it too. He's worked extremely hard and I saw great improvements in a promising striker whilst he was with us.

Blackburn seem underwhelmed by his market value not increasing despite proving he could do it at Championship level. For all his goals for them they're still in this league, will likely not make a transfer profit on him and have paid him about £4M in wages over two seasons. They overpaid.

Gestede is flavour of the month, plus he isn't starting from a position of silly, silly wages.. He is also scoring goals..

Fulham are in the same boat, though they seem fairly happy with McCormack I'd be surprised if anyone gave them over £11M for him.

I don't understand why people care whether or not Rhodes gets to the Premiership or not. I have always said moving to Blackburn was a great move financially but not for his career. His priority was finances and no doubt he is set for life at this point. Signing a new contract last year showed his finances were still his priority not progressing his career The only interest I have in him is hoping he gets transferred and we get a decent sell on clause. I don't care where he plays.

the FA Cup is rubbish, and that chuffing coloured ball, you can hardly see the thing, especially last night in the Man Utd cup tie.. is it sponsored by Specsavers ?

Its a shame what has happened to the FA Cup. Used to be the best Cup competition in the World and now no one seems to care about it.

Wigan do that all the time. Went last season and they gave it out as over 16000. I doubt there was half that there. I know all clubs add on ST holders whether theyre there or not, but clubs like wigan and MK Dons take it to different levels. They must go round handing out 1000s of free tickets before a game to random people just so they can add them on regardless. Its all about making the club appear bigger than it is, so clueless idiots like Charlie Nicholas can believe they're a big club.
As for Blackburn- can't hide shite support for FA CUP games around bogus padded out figures. Wonder if rhodes still thinks they're 'massive'.
