Whoever this martinez is im sure he isnt worth over 750k. We have signed Enrique 'Kike' García. If you have seen him play is he any good? You've signed Enrique Garcia Martinez. He's probably about as good as Lukas Jutkiewicz is...how much is he worth? Considering he scored more than double jukes goals last season I would imagine he is slightly better tbh

Unlike you smug smoggy I have actually seen Martinez play live, since I have property in Murcia. Any club who pays more than £750k for him is retarded, he is a player I guarantee in 12 months time you'll be wondering... "why". Enjoy. You're competing with little old Huddersfield, not Fulham. Get used to it! For similar reasons I also follow the fortunes of Real Murcia. Firstly - the fee was 2.5M EUR rather than 3M GBP Secondly - Kike had no desire to come to England: Getafe was his overwhelming preference, but they would not go any higher than 1.5M EUR. He's blown pretty hot and cold up until this season, and even then was anonymous in both legs of the play offs. If Clayton ends up at Boro next season it will be because they have paid double what he is worth as well. Cheers, think it was 3.5 million euros which is roughly 2.8 million. scored 23 goals last season so hopefully he will continue that with boro. Its a huge risk though considering he has never played in England. It looks as if were still in for Vossen from Genk if the price is right, he would have been a much better signing in the first place for me

Your 100% right. With the second half of last season we are quietly confident we can reach them playoffs, will be tough though, alot of good teams in this league now Sounds like town last season but the opposite way round.. We started really well but after Xmas we picked up key injuries to Vaughan & Lynch which led to a massive dip in form, Nahki Wells was signed but it took him awhile to find his feet. Think you guys will finish above us this season, but not by many points.. Enjoy the season mate, but not against us of course! Cheers! Wells was a good looking signing, would have liked boro to go for someone like him Heard we were looking at vaughan too but from what I remember it was just daft twitter rumours lol

haha cheers for the welcome. It seems fairly common knowledge up here that he will probably come to boro at some point over the summer. With his contract being up in a year surely the club would rather sell him than see him go for nothing? With Town 'doing a Burnley' this season, Clayton will be looking forward to life in the Premiership by February. New coaching means we've as good as signed eleven new players who will surprise many. You read it here first!

Looking at last season stats ,Boros average attendance was 16,156 which was not that much better than Towns so where is all this Boro spend spend spend money coming from if they are abiding by the fair play rules. Town chairman Dean Hoyle is a very clever businessman who puts the clubs well being before any kamikaze deals and surely any club trying to progress by breaking the fair play rules should be classed as cheats and dealt with accordingly by the football league. Sounds like we are going to push the fair play rules to the limit or accept a fine for breaking them. With the money about in the prem its worth the risk surely

No disrespect intended here either but Huddersfield are probably going to be looking at a relegation/lower mid table battle next season so its not really a sidewards step for the lad Would be very surprised if we arnt in the playoffs at the end of this season, we are throwing what money we have left at trying to get out of this awful league. just spent 3 million on a striker yesterday and it looks like were not finished yet. To be fair we are pretty remote compared to other championship teams but were still close enough to the motorway/airports. once you get out of boro and the surrounding shitholes its a pretty good area to live in up here though. If you think the championship is an awful league then just wait till you're in league one next season Just remind me what league 1 is like For whoever was asking about Butterfield he is a good player who has been unlucky with injuries. if he could have kept fairly injury free throughout his career he would have been in the prem. Karanka doesnt seem to like him though

Define leader mighty? Someone who shouts, points?
I agree he's not those, but Gerrard shouts, points, blames but he isn't a leader.
Or would Clayton benefit from the extra responsibility, help add to his game etc. He was one of the few who took responsibility on the ball last season for sure and didn't go hiding, perhaps some of the rest of the team could benefit from a different type of leader....
If he goes it will sum up what he has been an awful pre season so far, the highlight of which was getting Vaughan and Wells into a training session at the same time. Fabulous.
Is he replaceable? When was the last time we had a centre mid who you thought yes he's had a good season or was accepted to be a success at the club? I'm struggling beyond Damien Johnson (*when fit). Its 10 years since we last had a central midfielder who was player of the season for one, so no, he's not "that" easily replaceable.

Clearly its not as strong as our championship but im sure our scouts, manager etc know more about it than the rest of us put together. It is a risky transfer but they must see something in him, worked under karanka before so he knows him well

I saw Clayton go missing for quite a lot of last season, but on the other hand would not doubt his qualities as a footballer. I do think he is replaceable, and if we got 1-1.5 million for him, damn right he is. I would not offer him the captaincy to keep him, because there are better leaders at the club (not gerrard). I also doubt we have finished our business in the transfer market, there will be other signings in the pipeline if not recruited already.

We have 2 CM's that can't tackle, aren't fit enough and always look for the hollywood ball. So if he does go Norwood will still be here to take over the mantle Sent from my GT-I9505 using proboards

I'm resigned to losing Clayton now. I'm his biggest fan, but we've simply got to cash in on him if he's not going to sign. How good is this Butterfield, anyone? No point taking anyone who is sub-standard... we've got enough of those. I cannot understand how it might be nailed on that if he leaves it is likely to be cash and a player. 1 is it has to be a player who we want and is good enough but 2 he has to agree personal terms with us. Whilst I do not know what Butterfield is on at Boro but are we likely to match that Agree. Let's just do a straight money deal, leaving us free to buy whoever we like.

It will be a transfer embargo first in the January window It will be a fine, not a transfer embargo No, it will be a transfer embargo applied from January, which gets cleared if you show youre operating back under agreed allowable losses again. You only get fines if you subsequently get promoted (which is unlikely to affect Boro).

Absolutely why part ex when you can buy a newer model, if Boro really are serious they will give what is asked of them. By giving a player away as part of deal they get rid of someone they don't want and save on his wages

Man city and PSG went way over the ffp amount and they only got a fine Yes but there breaches were from European competitions and not from Championship football. If QPR report losses in excess of £8 mill they will be fined since they got promoted. Likewise any club promoted this season but who report losses in excess of £8 mill NEXT year, will be fined in January 2016, no promotion is transfer embargo

I reckon £3m would get him. Could possibly be worked as £2m with £1m in add ons.
However, I don't have a clue what Dean Hoyle thinks is acceptable.

Who knows mate but we know a million wont, one thing is certain the days when we sell for any price are long gone, our chairman has got good money for Rhodes, pilkington, hunt and Peltier, he let roberts run his contract down rather than sell him cheap....that wont happen with clayton but if it did I wouldn't expect him to pick boro, no offence but he will be on a free and bigger clubs than you would probably pay him more. ...thats the bottom line, if we pay him what you would be he wont go anywhere, doubt we would do though.

Quick question; what bid would huddersfield probably accept for him? supply and demand how deep are your pockets - i honestly feel that unless silly money in the region of 2 mill plus player is offered then he will stay here until the new year when we may off load before contract exdpires to a club (maybe yourselves) who are makinmgh a run for playoss / auto promotion
