Can't see him going unless Bolton stump up an offer that is too good to turn down. £1.375m and two players of our choice.

£1 million for him?
I can see this turning into a "drive him there myself thread"!

Topped the assists charts big player to let go really would be frustrated with this one maybe even more than Clayton going

Although Hammill had the top assists last season he was erratic at times, doing some good stuff but not doing it consistently enough for my liking. Maybe that's a bit harsh?

The thing is, if a player wants to go for whatever reason, whether it be higher wages, closer to friends and family etc, I am be quite happy to let them go, especially if we get a good price for them. If they don't wish to play for my team, the management will find players out there who will.

Suppose he's a marmite player a lot of people don't like the stepovers/lollipops but he's the real creative spark in the team and when he's on form he's top quality .

Maybe that's a bit harsh? not that harsh imo, but then pretty much the same could be said for almost each and every member of the squad (and should also include the manager in that statement as well )

I'm never one for player loyalty unless they are fans because lets face it, this is a job to these guys and they will go wherever they can further their career either money wise, as high in the league as possible or the most playing time.
Hammill on the other hand owes us the fans, the club, Dean and Roobins after his indiscretion.

Cash is king always will be to these guys and in general society whatever profession have no qualms with that. The most disappointing thing for me would be that we are selling off some of our best assets and keeping the dross ie scanz

Given he seems a bit of a loose cannon, anything over £1 million would be hard to turn down

Name me a championship winger that isn't erratic at times. It's the nature of their position. They are expected to produce every time and make a cross/ chance with every run of the ball. The law of averages says that isn't always gonna happen.

We need to keep experienced first team players, we haven't even found a new centre mid yet and we could need another if Clayton goes.
The money is irrelevant if we can't find a championship quality replacement to sign for us.

It was a tough second half of the season for him without Vaughan. Gets into good position but then when you look up to see who is going to attack a cross.....

When he's on blob, he's almost unstoppable, he scored one of the best goals I've ever seen a Town player score, couple of seasons ago, to rescue a point, not sure who was against, but he was brilliant when scoring that goal. But he often goes missing & doesn't track back, he's one of those players as described earlier as a Marmite Player." - UTT.

I've said exactly the same before now because I also was a left winger in my playing days, and it's the main reason why wingers are my favourite kind of player. You've got to take the con's along with the pro's with wingers more than any other position. They get supporters out of their seats more than anyone.

I was so annoyed that he was just dribbling round inside the box without doing anything. Shows how much I know...

Although Hammill had the top assists last season he was erratic at times, doing some good stuff but not doing it consistently enough for my liking. Maybe that's a bit harsh? All creative players at this level are inconsistent, then take into account he was playing as a wing back, a completely new position..not surprising, is it? He might be frustrating at times but he's still our most creative player, god knows why town fans are always so keen to get rid of them. Be careful what you wish for...many thought pilks and roberts were inconsistent and replaceable...We've been painfully un-creative and predictable to watch since those 2 left - hammill is the only one who has come close to replacing them. Hammill was winning PoTS by a landslide in January..tailed off second half but so did every other fucker! I dont see the value in moving him on.
