Mark Robins said it was him. Thank you Rob. I guess we'll never know the whole story. Do you still live in Beverley?

Mark Robins said it was him. Thank you Rob. I guess we'll never know the whole story. Do you still live in Beverley? Wasn't there quite a detailed piece on this on the Town website or did I dream it? I'm sure it was along the lines of the backroom staff didn't buy into the way that Robins/the club want Town to play and it was felt that a change was needed. Of course there's lots of things to be read into this....Robins's last chance etc but seems to fit with the club not being happy with the way the team played for the last half of the season but backing Robins and moving away from swapping the Manager every year. Last few times I've heard Dean Hoyle speak he's very positive about Robins and keen to promote consistency in everything Town do including the idea of coaches in the academy set up being promoted through the ranks.

Mark Robins said it was him. He's hardly likely to say otherwise

Mark Robins said it was him. Thank you Rob. I guess we'll never know the whole story. Do you still live in Beverley? No i live on the east coast.. From what i heard of the situation was that there was a meeting in March/April and the whole direction of the club was discussed. The general feeling of that meeting was that HTFC had maintained it's directive of sustaining a place in The Championship and building a squad that was capable of challenging and not just surviving in this division. There was talk of the need to push on and that the style of play was too negative and had served it's purpose. Steve Taylor and Darren Robinson weren't too sure that there was anything wrong with the system and weren't too happy about too much change . Personally i think that Robins had the flea in his ear from Dean about the entertainment factor and that he didn't like what he was seeing so Robins started to think about his situation. He did say in a statement or meeting somewhere that the style of play he has adopted as been to suit the needs of the clubs he's been at and the financial constraints he's had. Coventry, Barnsley and Rotherham were all clubs that were scrapping for survival as clubs when he was in charge. So i think he's gone for a change of backroom staff to try and assist him to get the team playing positively and more attractive football. Steve Thompson is a more positive coach and has had success with his ways.

He and Ross Wilson discussed it with Robins, and despite it being a very tough decision for MR, he agreed we needed a change. MR had to tell the bloke who was his best man at his wedding, that he had to go for the good of the club.

We obviously dont have a squad capable of challenging, even the capability to survive remains a question mark. And Town too. So also concerning he might drop his survival football principals to try and entertain. If you try and entertain when you arent really good enough it usually emds up quite embarassing. Hopefully this is all football bs, Robins cant really influence the "style", that just comes from the players he has at his disposal, and theyll collectively do whats required.

When the team does well the manager gets all the praise but when the team fail its very rare that the manager takes the blame and isnt it the same or similar in every workplace .
