I know many are frustrated by the lack of signings and the loss to Scunthorpe in the friendly. I have also noted the poll on our expected position in the division this season.
But I would like members to answer the following.
The first question has not a finite answer - at what age does a footballer reach his peak - the answer is it varies from player to player, so on to the next question.
Put each of our players in one of three categories
Category A - those that should improve compared to last season Category B - those that you expect perform at the same level Category C - those you expect to be worse.
Finally, based on the numbers of players in each category, will the team be better than last season with the same men.
Normally, I am pessimistic, but I think most people will have more in Category A then the other groups, so things might not be too bad after all

cat a=
All of em! Scannle, smithies, Gerrardl, Smith,
cat b=
Vaughn, Wells, Clayton,
cat c=
Norwood, Ward, Gobern :/ patterson, wallace, hamill,
too many have their feet under the table and are nice and comfortable, as the appalling performances v ipswich, Bolton, Sheff Wed, Donny etc all proved to me. It'll be a season very similar to last year i expect.

Not saying Wallace in particular may ever be good enough, but I find your conclusions odd in the extreme.

With the rest (apart from Patterson and Hammill) they are all young 20s and will more than likely only get better in time
