I was away at the week-end and wasn't able to go to Scunthorpe. It is nonsense to say (like some people) that a pre-season result doesn't matter. I was very disappointed when I saw the score. The fact is we should not be losing to Scunthorpe with the players who turned out - for those who went, does it mean we're not up to standard?

Scunthorpe may have a team good enough for championship mid table for all we know.

The result doesn't matter, the performance does and that was lacklustre at best. Town looked up for it in the first 20 minutes, particularly Lolley, but there efforts were nullified by a stubbourn Scunthorpe team and their efforts dwindled from then on in. Went with my Scunny supporting boss. He was impressed with the way we moved the ball about but didn't think we were much of a threat. As stated by Mark Robbins the game gave much food for thought, my thought being, and I think this every year, I am not going to anymore pre season friendlies.

in our first season back, under grayson, didnt we have an absolutely terrible preseason? then instantly looked a very good team when the season started and had a very strong start?

Apart from the U21 game at Dulwich Hamlet last season I haven't been to a pre-season friendly for years. They're a necessity of course, but for spectators I think they're basically a waste of time and money. When players that have been substituted sometimes return later on then I'm not interested in that sort of game; and for fans to draw conclusions about how the team is going to fare (both good and bad) based on the performance and result of any pre-season friendly is just silly.
