what exactly makes him so reliable? I know he has called some of our previous transfers but what does he know that people like us don't?

Here goes for what is probably the only sensible answer you get lol. He is a well connected Sports reporter so he does get some inside information. He does not hear about every deal before it is done but he hears about quite a few. He is certainly more reliable and more specific than superlopez and his news network.

He's called quite a few now, very good record for a rag journo, must have a decent source. People will say he's called some wrong but that doesnt mean his info was wrong..deal just might not have happened.
in other words he's the complete opposite of that super arsewipe and his fucknetwork.

He knows agents...
Not at all relaible as many fans of other clubs will point out. SImply gets good bit of news from an agent who also feesd him stories into the press about certain clubs wanting their player to create interest and try and get a new contract etc... It's how football works.

Nixon gets most of his info from Superlopez. Nixon is on average six weeks behind.

I can tell you this. Having read all Superlopez's posts and following Nixon on Twitter for at least 2 years I can tell you who I would place more trust in.
Nixon is pretty specific most of the time, particularly if someone outright asks him about a specific player. He can only say that a) yes theres something to it, or b) He has not heard anything otherwise he would be making stuff up.
At one point today he confirmed we were interested in a foreign attacking mid that had a lot of Championship experience. When someone asked him if it was Majeswki he said yes but later said he could not understand why it had not been announced yet. Said it was a simple deal and should be easy to complete. That is what started the mass panic and rumors that it may be called off. I guess he is not too familiar with the slow pace of our PR department!
If Nixon says we are signing someone it usually is specific and it usually happens within days. If Superlopez says we are signing someone it is extremely vague and he will claim he was correct even if something that fits the vague outline happens two years later. To compare the two is silly.

This clown Nixon is at about 40% success rate at best..... Henderson, Andrews etc etc all bull. The briggs thing.. The newsnetwork broke info he was only on trial. He took that and made up some vague bollox about him turning us down and we turned him down. What a fraud. I won't let him have a newsnetwork membership out of principle, I don't need the money and he is a cheapo rag journalist. We broke our interest in the foreign lad and he uses our info 6 weeks later. He needs to end all his tweets with #fraudster.

I agree Alan Nixon is a credible source. However, Superlopez has got you eating out of the palm of his hand... 90% (I pity the 10%) know he is on the wind up and loves every like/dislike/reply he gets.

maybe start a thread where;
a. name the player involved(either in or out) and club involved(out)
b. source
two pieces of information on the post and then the % of correct information can be determined as and when or if the deal comes off.
all to ignore posts that contain vague rumours or wishlists, these can be insulted or poo pooed on various other posts?
might be more interesting to see exactly who knows what and when..

Used to be supernovak until he left but then I changed it to Lopez cos his name has two syllables too. My business is a super-secretive news network which has 137 agents and 7658 freelance journolists [sic]. Members pay fees on a sliding scale rising proportionately relative to their access levels. Most of my time is spent disseminating the highly specific information for free on a football forum and getting plaudits for the accuracy of such statements as "we will sign someone one day". Bannatyne "How do you get new members?" "Hurhurhur, you said member, like penis." Paphitis "How do you get more people to join? Can I see the website?" "We don't have a website." Peter Jones - "Ok, I know a few journalists - is Alan Nixon a member?" "No. I won't let him have a newsnetwork membership out of principle, I don't need the money and he is a cheapo rag journalist" Evan "So, superlopez, where did it all go wrong? Is it, perhaps, because you made it all up?" Superlopez "It's real, and you'll be sorry when Town sign a player who once watched Dutch porn and my success rating reached 3%, you cock-eyed no mark excuse for a journalist...."

Quite a few other teams forums have a seperate rumours board where people start threads with names in the title, and then just let the discussion flow...then when a player signs, its easy to search back through and bump the thread and give the kudos due, and laugh at all the positive / negative comments about how this player will be the new messiah, or a total waste of space etc. The trick is new player linked = new thread...admin can merge if someone talks about a link to someone we've prev been linked with.

From my experience, and what works well for forums more populated than this - is having 1 thread for all transfer gossip and signings or anything. Any stray threads that get created just get merged into the one thread, so everyone knows where to go to read it all. Then the admins simply update the title so when you log in the thread title would be "UPDATED 30/7 - BORO BID FOR CLAYTON" or "UPDATE 29/7 MAJEWSKI SIGNS ON LOAN"
People might think you'd have to update the title a hell of a lot, but considering 95%+ is just absolute tosh, you only have to edit when there's concrete updates.
There's far too much quantity over quality on this forum sometimes when it comes to threads.
