Shall we wait til it's a done deal before we start a pre-post-mortem?

Potentially, would Butterfield be a good replacement for Clayton?

Fair comment, Berty....
Just seems we put the cart before the horse a lot on DATM at the minute. (And no, I'm not saying he's a cart horse)

if Butterfield does not want to be part of the deal may be a fly in the ointment..

For me we do not need a Clayton type player to replace Clayton. I think Norwood is capable of stepping into the Clayton role. I would like to see a bit more power in our midfield, a bit of strength that will protect Norwood and Majewski.

Butterfield has been mentioned as part of the Clayton deal for quite a while but of late it seemed like that was no longer the case. All of a sudden there are rumors swirling again that he is part of the deal and that is what is holding it up. Mainly due to an article in a Middlesborough rag. I just hope the Clayton saga ends soon whether Butterfield comes in part ex or not.

Is Butterfield a good replacement for Clayton? The idea of selling Clayton was to replace quality with quantity .

Not taking the piss out of our friends down the M606 but they need players & our lads need game time. On a separate note can someone answer the OP's question please. Is Butterfield any good?

I'm not sure that Bradford City's footballing style would benefit these players in any significant way.

Is Butterfield any good? similar to Clayton in that he is a well rounded player JB is quicker and more likely to produce a moment of magic but isnt as consistant as Clayton. Having said that he hasnt played much at Boro or Norwich maybe too big a move too soon for him. We need quality players. Butterfield is a quality player.

I thought he was extremely talented when he was ours. If you're getting Coady, £1.5m AND JB for Clayton, Hoyle and Robins want congratulating on some stunning business. Here's a video of JB's career at Oakwell that I created....
